100% it's parents. Culture is a byproduct of what parents allow, or don't allow. Parents are so easy to stick a device in the hand of a child and allow them to immerse themselves into whatever they can find. Or parents allowing culture and the school system to dictate what is "ok" or "normal". Instead of standing up against what should not be, and teaching their kids where to draw the line. My sons aren't angels, but they'd never pull a stunt like that. All of them, too many parents don't know how to be parents now, social media practically encourages discourtesy, and idols are not what they once were: Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers are long gone, unfortunately. In their place are female azz flashers, and males seeming to compete to see how foul-mouth, and uncouth they can be.
Not at all. The player should have enough respect for his university, his fellow players, his coach, and the game itself to act in a respectful manner. No excuses. Are you one of those who makes a victim out of the perp?Doesn't it feel a little weird making judgments about the character people who you know very little, if anything ,about?
Their NIL sponsor says they have to be influencers, no their not role models, never where but the kids they influence the most will help them get more NIL money, the bottom line in college football. It started with "show me the money"...Ain’t a kid on the field on Saturdays that cares about being a role model. Those days are gone unfortunately.
That's opposite thinking, IMO. You should care because it was vulgar, clownish and disrespectful. Even Texas fans and those unaffiliated should not want to see that kind of behavior on a cfb field.I don’t think he was acting lol. I don’t really care about the celebration, but it takes a complete moron to get a sack on 3rd and long and then draw a flag to give up a 1st down. It’s the kind of thing that gets you beat.
Disagree, it isn't just parents. In our social culture, kids are bombarded daily with media and peer pressure that is increasingly explicit in the use of foul language, sexual images, gross conduct such as vomiting, pissing, reference to defecating and more. You can raise a kid to your best abilities, and they end doing contrary to training things. Porch pirates, a few the parents dragged the kid back the scene, made them apologize, told the house occupant the kid behavior isn't how the taught him/her. Just look at the numbers of so-called clergy, teachers, medical personnel, politicians, police who rape kids, and other illegal offences. This mess is cross-cultural, in some cases, even celebrated. Living completely off the grid may be the only solution.100% it's parents. Culture is a byproduct of what parents allow, or don't allow. I don’t have a good enough memory to tell you when exactly, but I know he was on staff at bama for a bit so I bet he was just continuing that hateIt was also stupid that Sark brought Cigars to the game and then smoked them when they won saying they herd it was a tradition. No that's a Tennessee Alabama thing. Like their stupid Gold cowboy hats during the red river rivalry.
Speak for yourself. The Gaulden flip off was silly because Tennessee was getting their brains kicked in. I can’t think of any scenario where I would be happy with a stupid penalty giving the opposing team an automatic 1st down.Ehhh. One of those things we’d love if it was going our way. Everyone loves the pic of Gaulden flipping off the Bama fans. Not saying I like it but it is what it is. Don’t give up double digit sacks and then you can worry about the other teams celebrations.
Well that's why it was flagged. It's not acceptable, but I don't think it deserves to be talked about here almost a week later. I wouldn't call it "disgusting" or "redneck trash." It's just a celebration taken too far. That's it.Are you trying to say either is acceptable by young men in college sports? Because that sure would be moronic.
No I see what you’re saying and absolutely agree.Disagree, it isn't just parents. We agree in more ways than you realize. I'm an advocate of: Proverbs 22:6. But contemporary realities dilute the truth of it.No I see what you’re saying and absolutely agree.
But I doubt you and I agree with the source.
It’s called sin nature. It’s what we chose when we chose sin. We’re ALL guilty. We are all born sinners. We have a choice whether to do right or wrong. My point is it starts by combatting it in the home. By the parents. No doubt you’re correct, some will raise their children right, and the kids will grow up and choose wrong. But the chances are far better to combat culture by starting in the home. How we raise our kids. It’s an uphill battle though. Would take generations. Unfortunately it’s headed the other way, just as the Bible says it will.
I see what you’re saying, but the problem with that is that the Bible declares itself to be God’s infallible word. Scripture claims to be God breathed. If you don’t believe that to be true, how can you believe any of it?We agree in more ways than you realize. I'm an advocate of: Proverbs 22:6. But contemporary realities dilute the truth of it.
What we probably depart ways on, is I don't read the Bible the same way you. Proverbs isn't God speakaing. despite the wisdom
of the word. It's Solomon. As with all things man (human) it is not infallible. We don't read the collection of genre (source) the same way,
but still agree on the fundamental tenets with certain distinction on how it's interpreted.
Nope, you still misread me. Scripture as you understand it is the be all final word. I know it to be a collection of genre works voted texts into inclusion by Western biased men who picked and chose to their whims, and declared it official God policy. So much about what you said seems to place your trust in the heart of man, not what Gods desire is for him. Mankind’s heart is inherently wicked. Evil. Sinful. Filthy. What humans use Gods word to justify does not dilute His truth. By the way scripture does not condone those things. Not a single one of them. You just have to decide if you’re going to take it as His Word or not.Nope, you still misread me. Scripture as you understand it is the be all final word. I know it to be a collection of genre works voted texts into inclusion by Western biased men who picked and chose to their whims, and declared it official God policy. And churches then decided it and in some cases additional
works was doctrine. I also know that pastors and priests select pieces of the collection as God's will according to their personal or affililattion interpretation.
God didn't print the collection known as the Bible, put His royal stamp on it, gave a speech about what and why was policy, then handed it to a culture to
dictate social custom. It was strung together by biased Westerners who used it to justify oppression of women, slavery, racism, massacres cultural destruction of indigenous populations, warfare, and other Western HUMAN agendas. I on th eother hand, look at the collections individually, to understand
which specifically state that God has decreed a specific command or set of regulations for humanity as a whole rather than my own culturally bias wants
or expectations. But never-mind, we agree but don't see or interpret in the same way the same thing despite agreeing.\

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
