Florida throwing that LSU player’s shoe in 2020 cost them a playoffs opportunity. They were ranked #6 at the time with an upcoming SEC championship game against #1 Alabama. The penalty gave LSU the first down and led to a game winning field goal with 24 seconds remaining. In the Egg bowl a player pretended to be a dog peeing in the end zone and got hit with a penalty that led to a missed extra point that cost Ole Miss the game.
Us normal people were born with enough sense to not do stupid things when everyone was watching.. Like 102,000 spectators, ABC network live cameras, and the President of the United States.. I don’t know how you lose yourself in that moment unless [that’s just the type of person you are].It was a dumb thing to do, but 20 year olds do dumb things. A lot of us just had the benefit of no cameras or cell phones following us around all the time to record our dumb stuff.
Buddy I’m not sure what kind of childhood you lived, but when I was 18-20 the bigger the crowd the dumber I got. Not excusing it by any means. But I do get it.Us normal people were born with enough sense to not do stupid things when everyone was watching.. People are over sensitive today. All this is being overblown. Dude did an unsportsmanlike celebration. Got flagged. But the sports media needs something to talk about and sensationalize.
Texas showing who they are. We all saw Steve's ridiculous comments on the situation and days later Del Conte starts talking about it after the media is all over it. If they truly had a problem with it, Simmons would be sitting for at least a game.Texas AD Chris Del Conte apologizes for inappropriate player celebrations, says they 'cannot happen again'
Why the hell the NCAA and or the SEC did not step in impose a 3-4 game suspension for this dirtbag is beyond explanation.
Texas also had the opportunity to do what is morally correct but, opted to just slap his hand.
Is college football now all about just winning...?????!!
There never has been a time when I or anyone I know who is a Vol fan would have loved that.Ehhh. One of those things we’d love if it was going our way. Everyone loves the pic of Gaulden flipping off the Bama fans. Not saying I like it but it is what it is. Don’t give up double digit sacks and then you can worry about the other teams celebrations.
This is where I fall on this issue as well. SURELY...we ALL know in our heart of hearts this type display is unacceptable among civilized people. Don't we? Call me naive or ignorant etc... but MOST players would NOT do something so vulgar and shameful in this situation (i'm sure some would). Y'all can argue among yourselves but that's my take. He absolutely played an awesome game though but CLEARLY could have cost his team this game.Us normal people were born with enough sense to not do stupid things when everyone was watching.. I got my butt whipped regularly. Maybe I’m outside the norm, but I couldn’t imagine doing something that would embarrass my family in front of everyone. I realized that authorities could escalate things further than I could ever hope to.Buddy I’m not sure what kind of childhood you lived, but when I was 18-20 the bigger the crowd the dumber I got. I don’t remember us asking for the apology from the AD. I think that’s just how embarrassed some of Texas’s side were over the display.I know our O-line isn't very good this year but it would have been nice to shut him up on the field at the time instead of having to have the opposing AD say anything after the fact. Oh well, maybe next time.
