VolQuest - Vols conclude investigation; NOT imposing a bowl ban

Breaking: Tennessee Reportedly Concludes Investigation Into NCAA Violations

"After nearly a year of work and right at one million dollars in expenses, Volquest has learned that Tennessee’s investigation into NCAA violations under former head coach Jeremy Pruitt has ended.

As a result of the investigation’s findings and based on the belief of protecting innocent current Vol players, Tennessee is NOT going to self-impose a post-season bowl ban. . .

Tennessee feels strongly that the players involved in the alleged violations have transferred elsewhere and many will be in post-season play themselves. For the current players and recruits, putting to bed speculation on a possible bowl ban is a step forward from the cloud surrounding the program for the last year. . .

The University will, however, self-impose other penalties based on the nature of the violations. . ."

"This means that Donde Plowman's sweeping decisions and the Tennessee administration's decisions to work hand-in-hand with the NCAA and listen to their suggestions have likely paid off.

For the past couple of months, sources close to the program have continued to strongly indicate to Volunteer Country on Sports Illustrated that Danny White and Plowman both have been pushing strongly to avoid a postseason ban due to the mass exodus of players and the decision to terminate multiple employees last January. . ."

Good.
The most TN should be willing to do is pay a small fine, maybe 3 scholarships, no bowl bans and no more than a 2yr probation

I even think that is too much. Maybe pay a small fine and be done with it. The way this plays is the "powers that be" didn't know it was going on, and once they did took swift and decisive action and eliminated the problem.

Actually, what SHOULD happen is the NCAA gives us a pat on the back and shines us as a beacon example on how to handle these situations.

But the NCAA will probably make an example out of us while looking the other way at the playoff teams. It's sad and ridiculous, all around.

Proud of them for standing their ground! It worked for LSU with their coach Wade, and they didn’t even clean house like we did. Ready to have this dark chapter behind us and move forward to better times ahead. These players deserve a shot at a bowl game after all that they’ve persevered through. Just gotta get those wins now.

Agreed and pretty all most post has been screw'm and not take anything but maybe pay a small fine. I was being generous with 3 schollys for next year asvwe've seen CJH can coach a team with less and probation is nothing but just a see hey we did something for the NCAA

NCAA: We recommend you self impose a bowl ban for your violations

UT: Ok that’s good advice. We will consider it, we just need to ask our representative what he thinks.

NCAA: Ok, and what is your representative’s name?

UT: His name is Deez….
