CBS now has UT in the Chick-fil-A Bowl v. Miami. This would be a great match up. UT would bring a bunch of fans to that game.

College Football Bowls - CBSSports.com

How many wins does UT need to make it to the Chick -fil-A? How many to make it to a Jan. 1 bowl (Cotton/ Outback/ Citrus)?

Need a 9 win season to be playing in one of the Jan 1. games... 7 or 8 puts us in contention for Chick-fil-A

prolly have to win out to make it to a jan 1 bowl

Maybe, but with Ala, and UF likely in the BCS bowls (winner in BCS championship, loser in Sugar) that means teams three through five in SEC pecking order will make Jan 1 bowls. Looks like Sixth place will get Chick-Fil-a and so on.

That assumes winner of UF v. Ala is in National Title game of course.

I'd say perhaps 8 wins would get this team to Outback?

Ouch. That's not a good match up. Miami's team speed and overall talent would be tough to gain any sort of advantage.

that would be a great game. a score close to that of the aub-ut game but with constant good play from both teams. if that happened(chickfila in atl) i'd be going fa sho.

Hmm...I wonder if a win over Miami in the Chick'fil'A bowl would help us in our recruiting battle over Teddy Bridgewater with da U? Maybe if we put a nice whippin' on'em we could use that to our advantage in pulling some more of those south Florida guys.

I have gone through the schedules of every SEC team and here's how I think it will shake out

BCS Natl Champ: Florida or Alabama
Sugar Bowl: Florida or Alabama
Capital One Bowl: LSU
Cotton Bowl: Auburn
Outback Bowl: Tennessee
Chick-Fil-A: Georgia
Music City Bowl: South Carolina
Liberty Bowl: Ole Miss
Independence Bowl: Arkansas
Papa John's.com Bowl: Kentucky

Any other ideas?

This would feature two of the best in the business in coaching.

You think Randy Shannon is one of the best college coaches? With a career record of 15-14, I have to disagree. Larry Coker was much better with a record of 60-15.

If UT can win v. SC, Vandy, UK, Memph and upset OM it looks like UT could still make a Jan. 1 Bowl.

Miami most likely will end the season as a one loss team. I would think they would get a bigger bowl game.

UT would pack the dome, while Miami might bring about 100 bandwagon fans from the hood in south florida. UT would beat the canes by 10!

Last week people were saying we'd be lucky to make it back to 5-7, now everyone is calling for a New Years day bowl.

Unbelievable, lmfao.

How would you reshuffle this order?

BCS Natl Champ: Florida or Alabama
Sugar Bowl: Florida or Alabama
Capital One Bowl: LSU
Cotton Bowl: Auburn
Outback Bowl: Tennessee
Chick-Fil-A: Georgia
Music City Bowl: South Carolina
Liberty Bowl: Ole Miss
Independence Bowl: Arkansas
Papa John's.com Bowl: Kentucky

Granted this order would take UT beating everyone but Alabama, but beating UGA 45-19, and UGA already beating USCe, and the OM impolsion makes the schedule look alot different.
