No one currently involved in this program can be blamed for the past woes. Coach Fulmer and now coach Pruitt I think are capable. I like a coach with surprises on the field. I like a coach with "fire in his belly". I like an AD that truly loves the program. Be patient we will get there. I am as aggravated as the next person but we are trying to correct a team that has been woefully mislead by (I won't say idiots) but you get my point, over ten years, no less. We have the greatest fan base of any team, full of passion. It's not a brick by brick scenario , it's a player by player, recruit by recruit, class by class building process. My ONLY concern about coach Pruitt is why we play a fifth year senior as a back up. He either needs to be giving the chance to be first string or demoted to the string qb so we can be building for the future.

In closing,

GBO!

I have to admit it was quite embarrassing the number one guy our previous staff went after was coaching the opposing team.

If the players are to be held accountable then the coaches that get paid 6 and 7 figures along with the AD who hired them should be held accountable.

Especially since the AD is the one who helped start this slide into irrelevance in the first place.

Jones is gone so blaming him is pointless.

Pruitt has had months to at least start this culture change. I know it doesn't happen overnight but, if the first four games are any indication, it's gotten worse instead of better.

The defense on that Scarlett run was as pathetic as anything I have ever seen at Neyland and the mind numbingly bad turnovers shows a team that isn't focused or smart.

Both "sides" of the Tennessee fan base are right (ignoring the trolls spouting negativity just to show discontent".
Pruitt had never been a head coach and will be learning to be one for the next few years. That means he is going to screw up just like the players. I do think he and the staff are doing their best to teach these players. That said, he has so far not proven he can get a team ready to for a football game. Both opponents we have played with a pulse, have throttled us. I see far less talented teams taking much stronger opponents than Florida (they are not good...) to the wire, giving them a game.
To be fair to Pruitt, there is far less fight there in the players than inexpected. Even Butch kept talking about resiliency, and consistency. The problem was he didn't know how to instill that in the team. Does Pruitt and staff? To be determined. I do not think Pruitt really understood how bad off we were. On paper there was talent, but that paper "talent"would have not let us go 4-8 last year. There may be some decent individual players in there, but they have not figured how to bring it together as a team. It is on the players to have that will. Not sure how many we have that do.

Stop acting like it’s proven Pruitt is capable and we’re “in the right hands”. Not a damn thing has been proven.

I swear a large portion of this fanbase has the memory of a goldfish.

It's easily the most frustrating thing about some of our fans. How many times do you need to be duped before you stop just buying in fully?
