Now that Tennessee has signed 7-foot-1 Arizona State transfer the next challenge is to win a waiver to get him immediately eligible for this upcoming season. A number of people we’ve talked to this week who are familiar with the situation have expressed optimism that he will get the waiver. That would be big news for Tennessee, a team with big question marks in the post now in the wake of departures from Grant Williams and Kyle Alexander.
-VQWe spoke with Plavsic’s high school coach at Hamilton Heights this week, Zach Ferrell, who told us that this redshirt year at Arizona State had done wonders for his former player. In addition to being part of a college strength and conditioning program, Ferrell noted that simply having a another year to getting acclimated the American style of basketball. That’s bigger for him than it might be for some prospects as Plavsic only played one year of high school basketball in the states.
