SEC Commissioner informs Tennessee a buyout is not possible

In one of the weirder stories to come up this offseason, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive has informed the Tennessee athletic department that a buyout is not possible for the Tennessee vs. Florida game that is to be played 9/19/09.

"I was shocked when I was contacted Mike Hamilton and he brought up the idea of Tennessee buying it's way out of the Florida game. I thought he was joking at first but he told me Tennessee was prepared to pay up to 10 million to not have to travel to Gainesville this year and already had a game with the Citadel ready to go." said Mike Slive.

Commissioner Slive gave Tennessee the thumbs down on the the possibility of dropping a conference opponent and warned AD Mike Hamilton that the school's status as a member of the SEC conference could be in jeopardy if the rumor of a possible buyout of the Alabama game is true.

I realized it wasn't true when it started out as buying out Florida, then it ended buying out Alabama....with no transition.

Let's make predictions on how many other boards it'll end up on....stated as fact of course.
