Sounds like total capitulation -- like we are okay with being a middle-tier team that gives the true powerhouse teams a scare every now and then and settles for around 7 wins a season. Yuk.

Yup. Basically, we'd be the Georgia Tech of the SEC...no thanks.

A school of Tennessee’s caliber, a team able to consistently recruit top-fifteen classes and scout the nation for talent, would earn a playoff birth within five years of the option’s inception/installation.

The problem, of course, is that selling recruits on the option is essentially a non-starter when going after the best-of-the-best with NFL aspirations. If you could convince kids to give it a go, which is nearly impossible, the option would be absolutely be a success in Knoxville.

The problem is not so much the offense itself, but what it would do to recruiting. Players with pro football aspirations will not want to play for a program running this system.

I would also add that the SEC front office might not approve of all the cut blocking. The zebras would make us the most penalized team in conference year in and year out.
