I agree, but the only thing that really matters is getting healthy physically and mentally for the postseason.Looks like were quickly playing us out of hosting a Super Regional if we get that far. Team better be ready to play when Bama comes to town. That looks like a make or break series for a chance to host a super regional.
I wasn’t anything other than a recreational softball player in my youth. I don’t understand the intricacies of hitting. But I do understand general performance. It is the sum total of natural ability, technique and practice. Is it just possible that this is what the 2026 LVs are? An average or slightly above average group of hitters? They are young and should get better with age. This year, our ability to win will be based on whether our pitchers can limit opponents to a run or two. If so, we have a good chance of winning. If not…I mean, we're running out of time for that to happen.
The logical inference is that the Weeklys do not recruit great hitters. Why would that be? The hitting instructors have come and gone. I've seen the LVs play small ball and large ball. I've seen players swing for the fences and slap. Is the primary focus on defense? That shouldn't rule out ,400 hitters. I'm honestly curious about a theory.Same old song and dance of the last 20 years. Great pitching but little hitting against top pitchers which will take you far but will in in heartbreak unless something changes. Radford should not have even been a close game game.
Exactly...It happens the last half of the season and into the playoffs year after year. It's Karen's and the Weekly's MO. Just ask Monica Abbott.Same old song and dance of the last 20 years. Great pitching but little hitting against top pitchers which will take you far but will in in heartbreak unless something changes. Radford should not have even been a close game game.
I'm guessing that the LVs hit the field enthusiastic and ready to go in February, while the other teams took a while to get up to speed. Unfortunately, they have.Had high hopes at the start of the year as we were hitting against good teams but that has faded as the year has gone on. Florida, Alabama, OU, Texas have continued to hit if not getting better. There is still hope because our pitching is strong but we were left hanging by a thread last night cause we can’t hit consistently.
