Because Gen Z has to have something to complain about
I really don’t get the point of the exercise . We lived it. It was miserable . I remember us beating Miss St in a half empty Neyland Stadium and there was a big deal. It’s nice not to be anywhere near that right now.

Edit :We’re at a point where when the schedule comes out I don’t see an automatic loss, or where I don’t see a path to winning .

If I could GBO during the historic nadir of CBJ’s 0-8 SEC season, I can GBO through CJH’s entire career with the Vols.

What's even dumber is they equate 8-4 and 7-6 teams among the "worst ever" like we are 1980s Northwestern or something.

Yes the last 25 years were "terrible" by UT standards, but UT is a top ten program alltime for a reason

The truth is we had our worst 25 year period in history and still finished in as 7th or 8th best out of 12-16 SEC teams.

We finished with 18 bowls, 3 SEC East titles, a few highly ranked teams and a bunch of big wins too...

Let's quit acting like even though it was a small streak of mediocrity overall, that's it's some huge thing we have to complain about daily....get over it.

Think about how you rate Vandy football. Bama and Florida have the same record against TN that TN has against Vandy. Now imagine how Florida and Bama view the Vols. Recent years have been much better however.

The most embarrassing is the 7-19 against UF. It isn't even close.

However, if you make 2012 your arbitrary cutoff, Vandy might be the most embarrassing. We're 8-6 against them over that timeframe, and only 4 of those teams (2012, 2013, 2024, 2025) were really any good.

We went 2-4 against them from 2012-2018.

LSU is 141-69 in conference play in the 2000’s along with three national championships including possibly the best college team ever. I’d take that in a heartbeat.
They’re also like 12-38 in the SEC in men’s top 3 sports this year.

Damn that’s awful. Only winning records against teams in the bottom half of the conference. And a combined 20-58 against Bama, Florida and Georgia. 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Georgia is the embarrassment. Even with the 9 game losing streak now, plenty of times we shouldn’t have loss to them in the 2000s
2001 fosho. But, Richt had them pretty hot early on as Phil was cooling. After that we sucked and it's just embarrassing

Georgia has I think the 3rd most wins in CFB since 2000, more than any other SEC team, so that one's actually the least embarrassing.

No excuse for hiring people like Dooley, Pruitt, or hell even Butch. The downfall started with crappy administration.
Exactly. Hamilton hired Dooley in a panic. Of all the hires, that one is the most unforgivable.

And of course Hart's 2012 search was completely inept. I heard that the boosters delivered Gruden and Hart said "No, this is my hire to make." I believe that Gruden was on the table in 2012 but not really so much in 2017. I do not know for a fact that Gruden could have been had that cycle, but you have to hire someone who has built something or won big at a lower level. Butch followed Brian Kelly twice and never elevated a low level program.

The Pruitt hire is probably on the fans. But who were the admins trying to get us? Pedophile accomplice Schiano and Butch Jones 2.0 from NC State. If Pruitt had figured out the QB position he would have been solid.
