Hello everyone. Some of you might remember this from last year, but I updated the Tennessee roster geography dashboard I shared before. I made some updates to it that I think people will enjoy.

The basic idea is that it lets you explore where Tennessee football players came from over time. You can pick a season and see the roster makeup by state/country, compare recruiting pipeline trends, look at position group makeup by state and there’s even an option to browse player cards from each year.

The dashboard covers Tennessee rosters from 1970-2026 and now includes the updated 2026 roster. I also cleaned up the dashboard quite a bit and added more ways to dig into the data.

Newer additions include:
- Updated 2026 roster data
- Better page layout and mobile support
- More roster metrics and recruiting pipeline stats
- State/country trends over time
- Position geography, so you can see where QBs, OL, DL, DBs, etc. came from
- Player table by season with filters
- Player profile details
- Biggest year-over-year movers
- Better international hometown support

One interesting thing I noticed while playing with it: the 2026 roster looks like the closest Tennessee vs Georgia mixes in the whole dataset. Tennessee is still No. 1 with 29 players, but Georgia is right behind with 22. Pretty wild to see how much Georgia has grown as a roster pipeline over time especially during CJH tenure.

The data is built from the official UT Sports roster pages. It is based on who appeared on the official roster each year not playing time or eligibility.

It works on mobile but I’d recommend viewing it on desktop if possible. The maps and charts are a lot easier to use there.

Still a work in progress, but I figured some of y’all might enjoy messing around with it again.
