9. Tennessee

After monster recruiting classes in 2014 and 2015, this was always supposed to be Tennessee’s year to shine. Only two FBS teams return more snaps to both sides of the ball, led by QB Joshua Dobbs and All-American DE Derek Barnett. With Dobbs in the backfield with RBs Jalen Hurd (+11.6 run grade) and Alvin Kamara (+13.8), Tennessee will have one of the nation’s most dangerous running attacks, even behind an offensive line that has struggled the last two years. If they show even moderate improvement, watch out for Tennessee this season.

How is Auburn ranked ahead of A&M, and UGA/UF not ranked? Is this poll based off potential pro-talent, or is it actually trying to predict the best teams? Surely it the former, cause these rankings largely don't make sense otherwise.

Have you seen Michigan's schedule? They would literally have to miss a kick-off to get beat before the Mich St game. After that, it's only OSU left. If they lose more than 2 next year, Harbaugh will have taken a step backwards.

Oh, I'm not saying that they won't end up at 11-1. I'm saying that if you look at their strength of schedule, I'm not buying their number 5 ranking. I would put last years Northwestern team right there as a perfect example. They were ranked 12h with their schedule and we were what, 21st when we played them in the bowl game? Those rankings would have been reversed if SOS were involved.
