Yeah, it´s all about the points in the end. People used to rail about UK´s yards given up, but it´s really more about the points.

"Bowl Subdivision (FBS) National Team Report
Punt Return Yardage Defense
116 Vanderbilt
117 Memphis
118 Tennessee"

That is a sorry list right there. That makes me want to move to... ANY other state.

Edit: Wait...

"12 Middle Tenn. St."

It actually makes me want to transfer back to MTSU. They have played LSU and Louisville and they are still that much better at punt coverage.

Wow, what are the odds of that?

Truly incredible. What happened to our defense? I know that we have some serious holes at DB. Our line isn't amazing, but not that bad....nor are our linebackers. We have played 2 fantastic offenses, so I guess that skews the numbers a bit, but come on.

Our defense and our defensive coordinator suck. That is the problem.

Well you gotta take those stats with a grain of salt. It was Cal and Florida. Those ratings will come way up as the season progresses. Too early to judge anything right now. Hopefully those stats wont take a big jump at our expense Saturday.

we should not even pursue the returner. just line everyone up at the 50 yard line instead of over-pursuing and being picked off during the deep pursuit. h*** just let colquitt and cunningham to just pooch kick it everytime, giving us a little more time stumble downfield and tackle SOMEONE.

great point. We've played two of the best offenses in our first 3 weeks. The stat is sad, but it will improve.

we have given up two ST touchdowns and two defensive touchdowns, so it ain't just the D

Keep in mind we've played two of the better offenses in the country on the road. That doesn't excuse it all, but it definitely gross exagerates the overall rankings.

We helped their averages, and it wasn't like they played powerhouses their other 2 games. Just hope the D gets it together or those numbers won't get much better if at all.

I'm carrying water for our lousy defense, but we also gave up 14 pts each game on special teams and fumble returns.

those definitely don't help. Our total defense is #102, which is more what I look at to gauge the D.

1027 yards allowed to two ranked opponents at nearly 9 yards PER PLAY
Nearly 16 yards per pass allowed this year
Naerly 6 yards per run allowed

1 fumble recovered
1 interception

Yes, we have played two very good teams and that skews the averages. But even I have to admit 50 point a$$ whipp'ins don't cut it.

Ya'll hang'in in there
