Tennessee QB Quinten Dormady: ‘can’t wait for the season to start’

There's saying if you have 2 QBs you don't have any. QD and JG prove that to be false. We have two "high quality" QBs.

12-13 chances and maybe more. QD is talking playoffs, if anybody missed that.

Several teams have won a championship with two.

I like the fact they are different styles... QD more of a pocket type passer, and when we are on top of the blocking, he will do great. If we need to move the pocket or scramble, then JG will do great. I see no down sides to having either in the game as the situation dictates. A good coach will know when to mix it up at QB.

What you say is quite likely. My only thought on this is.... is our o-line good enough to shift for one style of blocking to the other with success? Not being very "learned" on line blocking, the two seem to me to take much different technical skills.

Both will play. Can't afford one of them to be unhappy to the point of wanting to transfer..

A 2 QB system is like what we attempted with Ainge and Schaeffer in 04, at least at the very start, but thankfully Fulmer/Sanders quickly realized how stupid that was considering it led to inconsistencies in the offense and considering Ainge was the vastly superior QB.

That's debatable.

No, its not.

Schaeffer at Ole Miss:

started all 12 games and completed 115-of-244 passes (47.1%) for 1,442 yards, nine touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a passer rating of 100.75. Then in 2007, he completed 35-of-93 passes (37.6%) for 578 yards, five touchdowns, four interceptions and a passer rating of 98.98.

Ainge threw for 8700 yards and 72 TDs during his career at TN.

There is no debate

The hell we can't. If one of them wants to go...then go. If you think UT won't get another great QB you are mistaken. Trust me, you WANT to be at UT right now. The wheels are turning. You want to compete against the best. Doesn't matter one way or another though, UT plays more freshmen then anybody over recent history. Probably more then anybody ever has.

I love that attitude, double D. But, Jones is going to play both, in the beginning and try to keep both of them happy. I think Dormady will win the job, which definitely means both will play, because JG is supposed to be Dobbs 2.0 and Jones doesn't want to lose him
