I disagree actually. I think those 5 are good shots, but I think Marcus Jackson, Pig (if people can look past the character issues), Maggitt (injury risk, but talented no doubt), and though Weatherd didn't light it up, I think in the right defense, he'd be fine. I doubt we have anyone drafted, but I could see those getting chances.

Wish we could have seen more of Pig in orange. Would love to see him make a roster regardless. Really fun player to watch

I see North maybe sneaking in a late round and Maggitt, Pearson and Randolph getting pretty decent free agent shots.

Great list, thanks Freak.

I see a bunch of FA contracts with North being the only pick.

Rucker just posted:
I'm getting 30 reps on the bench, I guarantee it. Write that." Brian Randolph

Thats got to be a record for a safety.

Saw some quotes where Randolph seems really confident. He may have been being sarcastic, but he said he would run in the 4.4 range and bench press 30 reps.

Honestly I'd be really surprised to see that. If he can back up his talk though, then he may have a chance to sneak into the 6th or 7th round.

Who knows, we'll find out soon enough.

BTW, the NFL status quo for DBs is 15-20 reps. 20 is considered outstanding. Last year Josh Shaw
from USC did 26 reps, Brock Vereen did 25 in 2014.

Side note: Ha Ha Clinton Dix did 11 reps, now we know where he got that nickname. :eek:lol:

Here are the records by position group, the record for safeties is 32 by Kevin Ellison USC.

NFL Combine Bench Press Record by Position Group - Postema Performance

And these are all the best numbers for each event dating back to Bo Jackson. Jason Allen is the
only Vol to represent in the 20 yard shuttle. Allen was a shocking #16 pick, the lesson here is
to focus on your 20 yard shuttle times.

I know that 30 is a pretty crazy bench stat for a DB. That's why I think he may have been being sarcastic lol

Here's the interview with Randolph. He has been called "slow and unathletic" on this very board, he's about to prove his detractors wrong.
Randolph said he hopes to bench press 225 pounds 30 times. While that seems a bit of a stretch, Randolph’s goal in the 40-yard dash seems much more achievable. Randolph is sure he can run in the 4.5 range, but said he hopes to post a 4.4.

“People think I’m slow,” said Randolph, who was listed at Tennessee at 6-foot and 208 pounds last season. “I’m going to show them. I ain’t slow. I’m going to burn it…Some people think I’m going to run a 4.7. I don’t know where they get that from. We’ll find out.”

I wonder what Kevin Simon could have done? Remember him? Dude was jacked.

Edit: for some reason I thought he played safety but I think he was a linebacker. Either way him and ol Herman could probably throw up a ridiculous amount of iron.

He played in the middle and he was a beast before his second ACL. I guarantee the 2002 Gators had
nightmares about the guy.
