"It feels like new Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin has been in Knoxville for years with all the news and controversy coming from the first year SEC coach, but the Vols are starting their first season with the former USC offensive coordinator at the helm. Optimism abounds for 2009 at UT with Kiffin and his highly talented (and highly paid) staff. To get a better look at the Vols, I contacted Kevin from the Volunteer Sports Network for this take on Tennessee this season."

Interesting read, one of the more optimistic I've seen. They make a good point in the Auburn game being a very good barometer for the state of our program. Personally, I think 9-3 is a little bit of a stretch, I'm setting the bar lower and if we exceed it, great.

No one can tell where we are - we have talent but last year tore everything up. We now simplify things and bring in some more good talent. The SEC guys seem to be nervous - good sign to me.

I don't know if this video has made it from TOS to here, but based on what I saw in the video, we may not be contending for a championship in the next two years, but after that, Tennessee football will be at the top of the heap for years to come.

I know that people have commented on the intensity of Tennessee's practices and the energy of the coaching staff, but to see it in this video really makes you optimistic for the future of UT football.

I love the comment from Kiffin, "I just beat Rogan to the next drill. You're supposed to have 4.3 speed and I beat you to the drill."

Love it. GO VOLS!
