Should Tennessee go ahead and prepare for a law suit in the event the SEC front office fumbles this whole LSU/Florida rescheduling?

I know there is a written rule in the Bylaws. But, anything can be contested in court or clarified or made an exception to.

Sick of how this may effect the rest of the conference and not just benefiting both teams.

In theory LSU could win out and be SEC West Champs also. Not likely, but could happen. If Bama and A&M flop.

Wouldn't it really be some **** if LSU and UF play in ATL representing their respective divisions?

Yes, said this yesterday. Too much at stake for it not to be contested if that comes to fruition.

Highly doubt it ever happens because we are going to take care of our own business.

if lsu wins out, and bama only has 1 loss, alabama will win the sec west, since lsu will be missing one game.

From what I have seen, Florida will have its hands full with Missouri Georgia and Arkansas.
I was very confident LSU was going to win, but I still don't see UF making it through the other three games without a loss. And all of that is still surrendering that we lose the next two games. I think it's a little early for the above.

Good lord people. Stop going over board. No, what Tennessee should do is beat TAMU or Bama the next two weeks and then let this go. We control our own destiny.

This is my stance as well. Many on here quickly forget Arkansas is #16 in the country and Georgia is no slouch. I am fairly confident UF will finish with a 5-2 or worse conference record assuming the LSU game never gets played.

What was the SEC's statement this morning?

That a 6-1 Florida teams play for the championship over a 6-2 TN team.

Meaning If LSU wins out and beats Bama, they too would get the nod for the championship game. Something tells me though that nick saban has leverage that butch doesn't.

the only way this even becomes a legit option on the table is if FL is in fact 6-1 and we're 6-2 at the end of the season. and at best, we wouldn't know that til after the Vandy game, which leaves a week til the title game. there may simply not be enough time for legal proceedings to make a difference in time for that game.

at this point, i think you proceed understanding that the end game is going to be that the game won't be played. and we still control our destiny, so win 1 of the next two, and this isn't as big an issue unless we lose a game we're not supposed to, and in that case, we may just not deserve to go.

but...just to be safe....you root like hell for GA and ARkansas. and then for good measure, you root for Auburn over GA.

First and foremost, you can bet the team is going to keep taking care of business.

However, I can almost guarantee you that folks in the athletic department are establishing a contingency plan should the worst come to fruition. It'd be irresponsible not to.

Nothing good ever comes from a lawsuit IMO.

If it comes down to it, just put Butch and Mac in a cage and let them decide who goes to Atlanta. My money is on Butch, I think he would whup his azz.

We could sell tickets and donate the money to a hurricane relief fund.

7-1 Bama team would get in over 6-1 LSU team. It's about percentages. The game needs to be played either way, but it's more in LSU's favor to get it done. And the SEC and Sankey need to stop being a joke and be the authoritative figure here.

I see this scenario and the last line is bs. If we lose we are not supposed that is utter BS to say, well TN should have taken care of business, all while other teams are choosing to not a play a game because it does not meet their every requirements.

If LSU wins out, they do not get in over a one-loss Bama or A&m, even though they won the heads-up. This no-game has put them in a hole where they are on the outside, looking in.
