ok obviously we lost by 39 points and everyone else will say that we got embarrased. But Tennessee did not play that bad.

Let's break the game apart shall we? I believe Tenn's LB's pressured Tebow a lot, Tebow(with some luck) was just able to get out of these situations. Recall, for example, the few times that Tebow was under pressure and had to scramble, then with no options, he just tossed the ball a couple of yards to a wide open tail back (obviously not a designed play). There were many other instances that i cannot remember specifically where Tebow was able to scramble away from the rush and get a few yards. What can we say? Tebow played better than we thought he would. It's hard for me to defend the Tenn's secondary though. When we needed a big play from them, they didn't execute, save for one instance (Berry's INT). I would say the secondary had a lot to do with out loss. Now you're probably going to bring up the 250+ rush yards by Florida. But Florida doesn't run a standard formation. It's too difficult to stop their playmakers (esp harvin) on reverses and options. They just have too much speed. I think the defense would've won the battle against any other offense (excluding teams in the top 10).

Recall that we had 2 FG's early on that we could not turn into TD's. I think this was the difference in the game. They scored Td's early on while we scored Td's. Its hard to come back as the visiting team in the swamp when you're down 28-6. We kicked short field goals too which shows us how far the offense drove the ball. Obviously the running game was a big disappointment, but the overall offensive scheme was not too bad.

We're not good enough to beat Florida this year, but I think we can beat a lot of teams. We have just played two very difficult opponents with simply too much speed for our defense. Overall, though, I think we played decent enough to beat a lot of teams.

Trying to envision a scenario where you can play OK and lose by 40.

We could lose 60-3 to someone, and someone would still say if not for some big plays...

Just take away those 5 TD's Florida scored in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and UT only loses by 4 pts.

Honestly....you can say those exact things about every game that you lose....that's why you lose.

FG's weren't TD's. Fumbles weren't First Downs. This play wasn't that one. We went left and should've went right. That's exactly why you lose.

Please don't excuse this and try to downplay the absolutely spankin' we were dealt.

Own it.

Did you watch the same game I did? I mowed the yard and my wife fixed me a ham sandwich and I settled down with a beer and before the game got started good a team ran a punt back for a TD. Clue, it wasn't Tennessee..... It got worse from there. We pull to within 28-20 and then we GIVE them a td. After that , we were toast. This is the first time in a long time that I saw a UT team give it up........:salute:

Unbelievable. You Fulmerites never cease to amaze me. I'm speechless.

obviously we made crucial mistakes, but overall we played decent...fla just ran up the score in the end, thats why it looks so damn bad.

Yeah, if the Gators hadn't scored so many points we could have kept it close.
