Tn. offensive stats team rankings season per NCAA: foul shooting-124, field goal percentage- 260, points per game-158, 3 point percentage-271... may have been worst offense game with 2 teams I have ever seen, In one stretch Auburn scored one field goal in 16 minutes and only trailed by four points !!!!!

Well, there you go, no one is perfect and defense will cause low-scoring games.

What would you rather have?

A team that leads the offensive stats but is in the bottom in defensive play? Or a team that plays exceptional defense but sometimes goes cold scoring?

Good defense allows you to stay in the game when you go cold scoring points. If you don't have that and you go cold, well it is lights out, go home early.

If your good scoring you rarely go cold enough to hurt. Defensively if you go cold and give up a run say the 15-0 and 13-0 run to Florida then you are behind and can’t get back in it because of lack of offense. I’d rather have the high scoring offense in todays college basketball

You haven't been here for a couple of weeks, you might want to click around a bit and see if anybody has already been talking about it. Join in the conversation, more informed.

Read a stat somewhere that said since 2001, the Florida game was the 7th worst shooting game and the Auburn game the 2nd worst shooting game in that time period. That is in SEC games only. That would equate to over 400 games in that span. Truly a record-setting week.

Huh? We literally stormed back to take a 6 point lead against Florida early in the second half. Did you watch the game at all?

Yes, I did and as we stormed back I saw we gave up a 13-0 run that led to our defeat at the end of the game

You’re picking out something that is not a trend and has rarely happened this season to prove a false narrative. We have been one of the best teams in the country at not allowing runs this season (and going on runs of our own).

Talking about how when you give up 6-8 points in a game and suck on offense it’s hard to over come. When you struggle on offense 6-8 points down is like a 20 point hole.
