Tennessee not finding in-state Volunteers

After listening to Dooley profess about putting up a fence around Tennessee, Hooker's article doesn't seem too far fetched. If, and that's a big IF, Dooley wins this year, NSD will be interesting for sure. If he doesn't win, then it's going to be an interesting time in the off season, and one that will probably put us further off-track, but that's part of rebuilding, figuring out what and who works, and what and who doesn't.

When did you go off the deep end? Was it after Kentucky? Your boy Kiffin was the one professing the "fence around Tennessee". You're turning into Fiji 2.0.

If the Vols signed 20 of the best players in TN every year we'd be in the OVC.

Not to say I enjoyed the article but, I thought he said 9 best recruits not 20. It looked like the players had commited to Ohio State or Michigan, LSU, FL, Ole Miss and Alabama. I don't think those are OVC teams.

Tennessee may not be GA or FL when it comes to high school football but when we are good we always have good talent from Tennessee on the team: Al Wilson, Eric Westmorland, John Henderson, Albert Haynsworth, lamarcus cooker, reggie cobb, bill bates, reggie white, jj mcleskey, jason witten, scott wells, chad clifton, bubba miller and travis stephens. Those are just a few of my favorites I remembered off the top of my head.

Tennessee talent alone will not win a NC but we must have the good Tennessee talent and add from other states.

What a horrible article... :eek:lol: It literally makes me laugh when I think about how terrible Hooker is and he still somehow scored a job with ESPN coming from KNS!! :eek:lol: The fact that we have a third of the 4* prospects in TN completely goes against the article and Hooker's opinion from the get go. Sanders is as firm as they come. His comments about Patrick are a lie. The only worry is Carr and I really don't have any worries as long as we have CSS and CJP. We also are right there in the thick of it with Ramsey as well. The rest I could care less about. Also, let us not forget that Vonn Bell is basically a TN prospect and it's looking good that he'll be a VFL. That will be 4 out of 9 4* prospects that we have to our picking. Also, to be honest, like many on here have already said, I would much rather get good players from our surrounding states than the 4* from TN. If we focus on solely TN players then we're in big trouble. The 3* players that we have from our surrounding states such as, GA and FL, are better than the 4* players here. All in all, not worried.....

I agree with your post, but the players that we do have committed and the ones that will probably committ in the future are the best of the best in this state. Carr, Sanders, Patrick, Ramsey, and I'm slightly considering Vonn Bell as a TN prospect. Check out the offers and I will gladly take those players. The rest on Hooker's list I could care less about and we will only replace them with better players from surrounding states. Yes, when we are good we always have good players from TN, but I would consider Ramsey, Bell, and Carr as those elite.

To me a 4* is a 4*. I'm not buying that a 4* from Tennessee isn't as good as a 3* from somewhere else.
