So, it’s a can versus should argument, which has kind of been my point all along. Michigan State is the perfect example. They had a remarkable year and paid out an insane contract. Only to have their head coach bomb the very next season. Should they have done that?

He has a chance to name his price. Win the East. Win in Atlanta. Make and win the Playoffs.
To think he jumps up to 9 mil with one 10 win season is a bit much IMO. But if he gets it great. Go win some games. That is what I care about.

We're going to have $150 million+ in revenue this year. Paying the man what he's worth is a no brainer. Extend him and get him into the upper half of the SEC as far as salaries. That'll take around $7.5M per.

Ole Miss just got played by kiffin. No way he he is in the same class with the top 4 at this point in his career.

Saban, Smart, and Fisher have all won National Championship. Kelly has been in the CFP 3 times and just won the west.

I think 6-7 would be fair market value at this point.

Heupel's next pay raise will be when his name pops up in a coaching vacancy somewhere. Giving a huge raise before then is kind of silly.

This is what so many on here don’t understand. You have to be competitive in the market you are in…and Tennessee is not.

He!!, even I think it’s crazy money. But, these are $100+ million dollar revenue generators and the market sets the rates. You either keep up and stay competitive…or you don’t.

Jimmy Sexton will get him top pay money if not here then somewhere else, Sexton dont play around about his clients. Talking about pay what has Kiffin done besides job hop and he makes what now 9 million that is the rate these days. Matt Rhule hasnt coached college in 3 years Nebraska gave him 9.5 million to start

Guessing they are letting the bowl thing play out to provided as much positioning as possible for relative value calculation. Got a shot to finish in the top 4-5 with the right bowl win.

This is true but until Heupel our coaching decisions recently were horrible, and people will say Butch Jones lol go check out Arkansas State record this year

We never hired one AFTER he displayed character issues. The Ogre AND Kiffin together are what they are. Couldn't blame them for getting Freeze fooled I guess.
