Tennessee Lady Vol News

For those who attended yesterday's game, it looked like more than the 5,486 that the boxscore has.
What do you think ?

Somewhere between 5k-6k. Saturday crowd was larger - not by a great deal, but larger. In talking to a few folks, 1PM on a Saturday was a lot easier to both plan for and fit into schedules, than 6PM on a Monday. Which was certainly true for me, so it makes sense. 6PM means navigating the rush hour traffic between 4:30-5:30. No offense to Toledo, but it's not a big time name that was going to convice people to rearrange their Monday schedules, unfortunately.

In the long run, it was an okay crowd given the parameters.

I wonder if Kellie will game plan to use Jill's midrange game to pull Kitley away from the basket when we're on offense. I don't know what we can do to stop Kitley when we're on defense. Bang away at her with Franklin and Striplin?
They should be able to pull Kitly out with Both Karolyn Striplin and Jill. Striplins Confidence from the Three point line has only gotten better. She is shooting 41% from the three. To put that into context, Tess is shooting just over 42%. Kitly will have to come out to guard that which hopefully will give Jordan and/or Rickea room to get to the basket. Who Plays the 4 spot for VT? I need to check that.

Kitley was 7-17 against SDSU and they are very undersized. I think Jill and Karo will make it very difficult for her especially as physical as Karo is

You're right, along with other posters. I had forgotten that Karo can shoot from any range. If she and JIll can pull Kitley out we could open it up for Jordy to snag a bunch of offensive rebounds and for Rikea to drive it down their throats. I think VT will run into a buzz saw.

Al, I think UT buzz saws them also.

That is the percentage you want to see from your three point specialist, and it is just gravy to have a post who can come out and hit at that clip.

Tess has really improved her shot this year. That is something I haven't seen mentioned on here. Her release is a lot faster, and she picked up 4% or so on accuracy.

I always thought Striplin had a good looking shot from three, but she didn't take many last year and only shot something like 15% IIRC. I think all she needed was playing time to settle in.

Even having a tough year, Puckett is third in 3 pt percentage, which just shows we don't have enough players who can hit a third of their 3 pt attempts.

Strip has really stepped up her game this year….she is gonna be a good one. If I remember right, @Coach Jumper called this one with her, he was right. I was way wrong on her. CJ, send me a crow plate, I need to eat it.

Damn, Jax is built, not meant to be a sexist comment, but my Lord. What a fade away jump shot, damn.
She is cool as can be man, that girl is something. She is gonna be first team AA next year. Forgive me for also thinking she is beautiful, but she really is.
Man, did the scales just fall off your eyes? LOL you act like this is new info, revealed by the Dear Vols video. Didn't notice all season?

I want to see the one foot fade away jumper more in this next round. Feel like its been awhile. And yes, she is super cool on court, another of the many things to admire.

For you Rooster, get you caught up:

Did Charlie Creme Just say, that a 5-6 guard from Virginia Tech was gonna be the best basket getter and would out do Rickea Jackson? Let Rickea Jackson read this smack. Women's Sweet 16 picks, predictions and breakout players
I always like our chances when Charlie Creme is predicting against us.
(4) Tennessee vs. (1) Virginia Tech
Seattle 3: Saturday (6:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2)
Adelson: Tennessee
Creme: Virginia Tech
Pelton: Tennessee
Philippou: Virginia Tech
Voepel: Tennessee

LMAOOOO

Sorry but wow.

Just more fuel for the Lady Vol fire. Each of his predictions is dumber than the last.

At the SEC tournament he completely wrote us off mid-game and wouldn’t shut-up about the impeding matchup between SC and LSU. We see how that went…

He then repeatedly said we wouldn’t host, wouldn’t get out of Knoxville and wouldn’t best Iowa State who lost their first round game lol.

I would like to know what he gets paid and where to apply.

He was discussing what LSU had to do in the next round against South Carolina to secure their number one seed without any regard to Tennessee and then even after that win thought we were more of a 6 seed seed and North Carolina a 4. The guy is either a "pot stirrer" or just clueless. I tend to lean toward the latter.

Man, Creme does have a deep and abiding hate for all things Tennessee. This anti Vol conspriacy is not imagined. But he may be half right. Maybe Amoore does get more buckets than Rickea. But that may also mean we win easily because lots of LVs are filling it up. We have lots of weapons, more than Va Tech. Or, Rickea could find her spots and go off on them for points. I'm sure she'll add rebounds, assists, etc.

Most buckets doesn't mean anyone is a better or worse player, and I'll still take Rickea.

I don't think anyone needs more motivation, or any kind of revenge. I just want them calm, playing within themselves, and concentrating on doing what they do best.
