Tennessee Lady Vol News

Latest bracketology article. LV’s still a 7 seed, I think they keep the 7 spot regardless of the Vandy game. Prob need to win a game or two in SEC tourney to maintain that seeding. Current projection is UT in Iowa bracket. If it held (it won’t, but if) UT would face a game Fairfield squad then Iowa on their home court. Louisville would await the winner. This is probably the type of scenario UT is facing this year, the teams will change, but the overall situation remains.

This current bracket as it stands would be our best opportunity to get to a sweet 16. This would be an ideal scenario for this team.

I sure would have loved seeing what Kaiya Wynn could have done in basketball if she hadn't been so severely injured. She was showing great promise on the defensive end, which we could most certainly have benefited greatly from if she'd never lost so much time.

Our beloved Lady Vol program is, sadly, littered with sooooo many "if onlys" that it is heartbreaking to go back and try to remember them all. And the toughest pill to swallow is that it has so often been the sweetest, best teammate-types whose careers were cut short due to bad luck.

Anyway, as I've said before, I am grateful to the basketball gods that Ms. Kaiya Wynn chose Tennessee, and while it's sad that her basketball playing got cut short, her legacy as a dedicated Lady Vol and brilliant student with a fantastic career in medicine in her future, will FOREVER make her a favorite in my circle of supporters.

Thank you, Kaiya Wynn. 🧡

Agreed. And Vicki Baugh immediately comes to mind. GBO.

So you think the team is going to play every game over the course of the season exactly like they played the first two games of the season? What team in the history of the sport has done that? Who hasn’t gotten better over the course of a season? Who hasn’t gotten better over the course of a couple of weeks?

Holy over reaction.
What a reaction it was! 🥴🩵🧡

Tempted to put this in non-LV news thread, because sadly the first SEC awards are non-LV news. I’m a little surprised, but not shocked, that coop did not at least make second team. I guess the vibes are just too negative. No all freshman team has been announced, maybe Mia will make that and keep the LV’s from being completely shut out.

I agree 100% with USA Today's choices.

I wonder who first pointed Blakes out to Ralph to put her on her recruiting radar? WhomEVER it was deserves Shea Ralph's forever gratitude, 'cause that woman is a phenomenon.

Even more so w Galvan who was way under the radar. Also exactly who Blakes needed as a running mate. And has improved and developed so much over the course of the season. What a concept.

Vandy is bittersweet for me. First reaction is jealous and mad it's them and not us. And especially them. On the other hand they're so freaking fun to watch, and I don't want to miss out on Blakes' career out of spitefulness.

It also took 5 years so don’t forget that. The first few were ugly.

Vandy started much farther behind so it took more time.

I’m fine with more time. I just want steady progress not this.
Coach built this team so she has to own it BUT BUT BUT…. Not enough of the newbies meshed and provided reasonably expected play. The FR actually played like FR but the upperclassmen SEEMED to lead us in BAD turnovers and missed high percentage shots. NOT character related, I don’t think, but the sum of their efforts to lead our young ones was not enough.

Can anyone really believe stepping away from our coaches schemes would change our record? Scores maybe. At least this way IF we maintain this class they will be better prepared to lead this years additions, HS and poral next year. Returning minutes will have to be bigger.
