Tennessee Lady Vol News

I gave up X about a year ago. It is such a cesspool.
Ditto. As the Elongated Muskrat entered, I exited stage center. I keep a fb account only for seasonal plant hybridization purchases, and that will soon taper off as my fields have little room for more. And the ever larger flocks of wild turkeys think I plant flower seedlings for their culinary enjoyment.

Beautiful turkeys! I also learn a lot about gardening here as I am relatively new to the area through Facebook, but I should maybe just be doing more with extension and the master gardeners tbh.

Hah! Those beautiful (sic) buzzards wait until all my plums, pears, peaches and sour cherries are just about ready to harvest. Then they somehow fly up into the fruit trees and eat everything. They are nearly as bad as the deer. Luckily the coyotes keep those from overpopulation. Luurrrvvve me some nice coyotes.

I know it's a joke but I just find these comparisons so silly. We're in the SEC and will always have the resources of a P4 school that Louisiana Tech and Old Dominion will just never have. Even if we keep going "downhill" we should always have the ability to bounce back, like other P4 programs that had several years being down but have worked their way back to the top, like Texas or Southern Cal.

I do agree. I more posted it as an example of the larger narrative around the program. Totally agree tho that Tennessee should never fall behind like LaTech and Old Dominion when we have the revenue sharing and NIL available to us that we have.

This. Louisiana Tech and Old Dominion were medium fish swimming in a very, very small pond. They were dominant in the era before most of the P4 programs even decided to put real money into their programs (or perhaps, once ESPN decided to really market the women's college game as a product to sell on its networks) - and once the P4 programs did ante up, Louisiana Tech and ODU had to sit on that couch.

Tennessee doesn't have to sit on that couch. It can choose to sit on that couch. But it doesn't have to sit on that couch. Not unless it wants to.

I think the twins for sure. Don’t know about Prawl. But those 3 are big buddies so it wouldn’t surprise me.
I got the impression their Dad was pretty down on the fast track bail on the team bottom feeders, so we will have to sweat it out for a while.

We can get a feel on DW’s position with how much money he allocates to maintain and improve the squad. He can make leaving tough. Next years trend lines will be key.

That is great! We tried and tried to grow tomatoes before admitting it was just really an expensive squirrel feeding program. They always just took one bite!

the slugs and my strawberries

Not to be outdone by my fellow erstwhile horticulturists, we have some voracious raccoons who eat whatever isn’t covered by wire mesh and cheesecloth. Now these are not your cute, little fellows. They have wrecked two have-a-heart extra large, raccoon size cages. I'm thinking of renting them out to Ms. Caldwell to use on the practice squad.

Those raccoons can be vicious ! A little raccoon attitude might be a good thing for the LVs!
We had squirrels in the attic one year so I called the critter ridder to humanely live trap them. The first morning he came to check the traps (second floor) I walked out just in time to see Jethro toss the cage with squirrel from the roof. The squirrel was deceased when I got to the cage and Jethro told me the squirrel had already died of a heart attack! It was $60 for each “ live” trapped squirrel. We caught two more who lived to tell the tale. I’m pretty sure Jethro turned them lose at the corner of our property.

A $100.00 dollar air rifle from Walmart took care of my raccoon and squirrel problems when we lived down in Florida. I had the happiest little dachshund dog in the world when he heard me say " Squirrel".

good ole days. lol

living in this HOA old folks community now sucks!
