The impact of Pat Head Summitt, professionally and personally, for former Ole Miss players, coaches, and staff is significant.olemisssports.com
1996-1997. Ten loss, National Championship season.
Kellie did NOT miss a game with that ankle injury because she insisted on spending the entire time leading up to the next game in intense treatment. She was determined to be ready for the next game, and she was. Kellie Jolly may have been the toughest, most deeply competitive player to ever wear a Lady Vol uniform, and this is why she will always have my eternal respect. She missed the first 16 games. In those they went 10-6. The balance, 18 games, they went 14-4. Not sure if she missed games with her injured ankle in the NCAA tournament later in the season, but they won those.

Something really happened to the mens team after they beat number three Houston. I don't know if they got the big head or think they just have to mail it in to win. Ament is looking totally out of it last two games. Barnes may have to bench him and let someone else play a lot of those minutes. The men losing to Syracuse last night was a real gut punch. That was, I fear, a potentially damaging loss if and when future games come down to the wire like that. I did not expect to see a loss last night, for sure.
It’s up to the Lady Vols to salvage a little bit of dignity for UT sports tonight by getting a win at Stanford. I need to see something good. Dang.
CRB isn't benching that 5* player... Ament needs to let the College game slow down for him.. kid needs to use his mid range skills more.Something really happened to the mens team after they beat number three Houston. kansas and houston are both good teams but syracuse will be lucky to finish .500 in conference play. that’s not a good loss for the men vols. barnes will get them back on track. They gave an incredible effort against Houston and simply ran out of gas against Kansas. Syracuse is a really good team who took Houston to OT, so a tough game at their place is no surprise. Both teams seemed a bit sluggish after the 3 games in 3 days tourney.
Knoxnews was paywalled but clear at the Tennessean.Nice read on the coaching staff's approach to analytics and how they are using stats to help players improve shot selection and team rebounding: https://www.knoxnews.com/story/spor...asketball-kim-caldwell-analytics/87006968007/
Seemed to be the secret sauce last year.Yup, very interesting. Sounds like Deniya is really paying attention. Also like that they track catch-and-shoot 3pa. I saw a study on factors affecting shot success in the NBA and that was big. It seems to me that Robertson is MUCH better when she shoots off the catch.
