Tennessee has wins over the two Hottest Teams IMO.

Kansas might have something to say about your assessment.

hate, gimme your assesment as to what happened to us against LSU. Not being a S.A. seriously want your opinion. Trying to learn more about BB. Football and baseball are my games and I understand the sets and so forth with both of them. But BB is still foggy to me.

Beef, I didn't see the game. I was at the MWC games. From what I can gather from the numbers, we didn't shoot well and didn't force LSU into enough turnovers to make it a fullcourt game. That's going to be a recipe for disaster on most nights for this team.

I take it they (Texas) won today?

How many points did Durant end up with? He scored their first 13...

cmon, lsu had 20 something turnovers, plenty enough for a vol win if we take advantage of tha turnovers. as far as shooting well, tha problem there was that on our misses tha ball never made it to tha rim. it was smacked back tha opposite direction. great shot blocking by lsu. however, second chance points late in tha game by over tha back davis won tha game.... or as tim brando says, taking great angles at tha basket.

If Tennessee was getting a bunch of shots blocked, that means they were playing a halfcourt game. Hence, I don't care what the number of turnovers was or was not. It didn't result in a full court game, which would have negated LSU's advantage inside.

I'm positive that Kansas is going further in the tournament than Memphis. Further, I believe it's likely they will outlast Florida.

I really think you are under estimating Memphis.IMO, this Memphis team has as much staying power in the tourney as I have seen from them in some time.Time will tell.Florida may slip up somewhere along the line.

I was at the game. I haven't seen the stats, but I think JuJuan shot a big 0-fer from 3-pt land. On offense, he and some others were glaring no-shows. Childress, who obviously isn't expected to do as much scoring-wise, had a nice game. In the 2nd half, every time somebody set a ball-screen for Lofton, they double-teamed him. I would have liked to have seen more screens set by Ramar Smith, who could get the ball back from Lofton and then drive, because it would be 4 on 3 with them doubling Lofton so far from the basket. We did force some key turnovers down the stretch that led to points. The thing that killed us on defense was rebounding. It seemed like every time an LSU player missed a shot, Glen Davis got the rebound inside. Davis reached back to March of 2006 with his performance. He is big, but we needed Chism/Crews to box him out and get a rebound, and they flat out didn't get it done.

let me explain. i watched tha game, you didn't, so listen. you commented on lsu's lack of turnovers and i believe having watched, played, and coached basketball for a number of years, that over 20 turnovers is a substantial amount. then you commented on tennessee's poor shooting, and i contributed alot of that to tha shotblocking of lsu. also a few times tennessee would create a turnover and on tha transition lsu would run tennessee down from behind and reject tha shot from behind. tennesee took over 70 shots during tha game so tha game, so i wouldn't call it kevin o'neal basketball.

1. How many of the missed 3s got blocked? 2. If you're telling me the game was played at anything that resembled a 94 foot pace, and Tennessee lost to a team with guards that bad, the season is over. 3. Turning a backcourt that bad over 20 times in an overtime game is nothing to write home about for a team tha fashions itself a pressing unit.

I like Kansas...ALOT. But, in the back of my mind, I have a hard time forgetting that Kansas lost to Bucknell (13 seed) and Creighton (12 or 14 seed) in two of their last 3 tournaments. Therefore, I have a hard time trusting Bill Self, even if he wins the last 2 Big 12 tourneys.

Kansas is a team I could see going anywhere from a sweet 16 loss to national champions. A lot of talent, but I have a feeling they will fall asleep.

Kansas struggles with Kansas State winning only by 6 is not too impressive.

credit goes to lsu for handling tha press in tha first half, not blame to tennessee. sometimes teams step up for a game and plays above their heads. tha final 10 minutes lsu was back to their old selfs and tennessee too. as far as 3's getting blocked, j. smith was really tha only one that missed some open looks.
