Well I went to rivals.com and not one of the sports writers picked us to win. All five of the sports writers said we would lose. What makes this hilarious is that they said Tennessee was stronger in four of the six positions they mentioned. I mean does that make any sense. Ill tell you cal may have the revenge factor but Tennessee has the respect factor. If I was Fulmer Id have the guys so pumped up that they couldn't see straight. You beat a team senseless but are given no chance to win, im thinking this may turn into the sugar bowl of 1985. I honestly think that this may be the most excited Ive ever been over a Tennessee game. What I mean by this is that in most aspects wave at least been respected but that is now gone. Tennessee has to get the respect factor back and it starts tomorrow night!

no, if tennessee wins 49-0 tomorrow night there will be a temporary shock factor from the media and it will be eventually brushed aside as an anomaly like they're already doing with last year's beatdown. the lou holtzs of the world pick a team, develop an opinion about them, and then hold that opinion no matter what happens. tennessee should be given the benefit of the doubt/pregame respect so to speak since we have already crushed them once. it just never happens.

Cal finished last year in an upswing and we didn't. We lost some key players to injury and suspension and now our qb has a broken pinky (geeze) I haven't seen folks saying we have no chance to win.
That said, I agree that our team should be as fired up as you are and go out and earn respect.

Im gonna Laugh at all those STUPID Idiots when they backtrack their pick when we WIN.

I already know what those so called "Experts" will say

"Oh, TN played like a Team on a Mission tonight."
"Cal did not come ready to play tonight"
"I dont think Forsett was ready to handle the pressure of the starting job"
"Looks like Longshore still has nightmares of that TN Defense"

The SAME thing happend last year.

Look for the same results again.

Honestly, who cares if anyone gives us respect. "On no, this guy doesn't respect us." Big deal. Go out and win. All that matters. Do that and the respect will come.

Bingo. Would ya'll feel better if everyone was picking you to win. I wouldn't.

i don't want everyone picking tennessee to win. i want objectivity in reporting. i just said that if you are going to give a team an advantage/benefit of the doubt, it should go to tennessee.

Last year's game was so dominant that it was dismissed as a fluke. Had it been, say, 28-24, there would be a bit of carryover. Instead there's an idea that Cal did everything wrong to get destroyed, rather than UT doing anything right.

once the opening kickoff is over Ill be alot better... DeSean makes me nervous returning kicks (esp the opening one) and on the other side Arian Foster makes me nervous returning kicks after all his fumbling last year... If we can survive that, then maybe we can play a good game

Comments like that lead me to believe that if we come out to Cal and spank you guys again like last year I am pretty sure you will be done posting on this board.

ha. can you imagine the abuse I would get day to day if we get blown out again? you are probably right. I'd come and eat some crow, but hang out forever. probably not.

I believe you are the only Cal fan that will be missed.
