Looks like the Defense has a shot at being Elite.

Secondary is deeper than most realize

D Line is the most talented and deepest it's been under Heup.

LBs flying around and tackling well

The 0-Line is coming together nicely and has a shot to be among the best in the SEC especially at run blocking.

TEs are the most talented and deepest they've been under Heup and among the strongest in the SEC

WR still the big question mark of the team.

Joey is improving practice to practice.

My biggest cause for optimism for 2025 has to be the O-Line. They could end up being the strength of our offense. You can win a ton of ballgames with a great O-Line but you aren't winning jack sh*t without one

It’s is zero-line in your original post, Hopefully that is a Freudian slip…

I agree in part. You can win in the SEC with an average SEC OL as long as the DL is ELITE! But, you are still right. You aren't making the playoffs without a better than average line on both sides of the ball and ELITE play at all skill positions! Where would you and others say the OL and DL ranked in the SEC last year?

If all of these are spot on, UT can make the playoffs again with the stable of RBs UT has as well as at least average QB play and better WR play than last year!

If this is the most talented and deepest DLine under Heup, then a) I will be surprised; and b) that’s going to be a top 3-5 DL in America. Because last year’s DL was really damn good.

This. 100% this.

Our Dline is gonna be one of, if not THE best in the SEC.

Our Oline will be MUCH improved over last season. We led the SEC in rushing for the 2nd year in a row...BUT our Oline graded out 105th out of ~135 FBS teams in total blocking figures from PFF. We were terrible pass blocking especially in our losses. We should be better at every position on the Oline except Center...and Pendleton likely starts there and he is a veteran himself. Heard has lost 30lbs and is healthy this year at LTackle. We have 5* guys at both tackle positions for the 1st time in forever.

Our offensive and defensive lines plus stacked RB room are the reason I am still saying 9-3 this year. Sets us up for playoff runs in 2026, 27, and 28. The class we have coming as freshman in 2026 is LOADED. Best class in 20+ years

I agree with this. We may have to win some ugly games this year but a win is a win.

So, you're saying there's a chance?

It's a real shame this is going to be the deepest and most talented team CJH has had and we're weak at the 2 most important positions. QB and WR. Could be a frustrating year.

Listed to Swain this morning:

- he was very upbeat about the offense
- lots of passing plays made down the field
- thinks Joey sewed up the starting job
- MM looked good
- Travis Smith looked good
- Amari Jefferson made a great play on a deep pass
- RG was very animated after offense was able to run the ball last time…but said we STILL were able to run the ball

Knowing the defense is above average, these are really good signs

You Know they are weak why?

You have not even had the starting QB named and have not seen him with the starting WRs on field but you know they are gonna be Weak!

While you are being claroviant can you give us the winning Half Billion dollar lottery numbers.

No one knows yet what we have. No one has ever seen Joey in this system. I tend to believe he is a gamer and is going to rock in this system even if he has not been perfect in his first “TEN” practices learning new team members and system, Hooker didn’t practice well but he was a gamer who is my favorite Hooker of all time.

Wr is not one of the top 2 important positions… Qb for sure and trenches is next… I think JA will come along well as the season goes… how many wins will that turn into? Tough to call but I can see anywhere between 7 and 11 likely finishing at 9-3.

The WRs imo are more likely to surprise. But I don't have a whole lot of hope for the QB that threw 24 picks in 2 seasons and has never held an offer from any other SEC school. We shall see. I hope I am wrong.
