Here's what ESPN's bottom 10 ranking had to say.

"As one aging former champion prepares to don the red, white and blue trunks and step back into the ring, another former champion is logging its famous orange and white checkerboard end zone all the way into the Bottom 10.

Rocky is back. Rocky Top isn't.

Rocky
Yo Adrian! Did you see that Rocky Top hit No.5 this week?
Sylvester Stallone is preparing to bring his most famous character back in a sixth (and hopefully final) installment of the "Rocky" series. Sly plans to start filming "Rocky Balboa" in Philadelphia and Las Vegas next year.

Over in Knoxville, Tenn., Tennessee is probably looking for ways to dispose of this year's game films. The Vols opened the year ranked No. 3, but have slumped to 3-4 and are in danger of not becoming bowl eligible.

To make matters worse for Smokey's team, the last loss came at Neyland Stadium to Vols nemesis Steve Spurrier and South Carolina. Want more? It was the Gamecocks' first ever win in Knoxville. How about a final insult? Tennessee retired Peyton Manning's No. 16 Saturday. Maybe the Vols forgot Peyton went 0-4 against Spurrier's Florida teams.

A Rocky Top resignation ensued. Offensive coordinator Randy Sanders resigned Monday. But Sanders is sticking around for the rest of the year, so he will be able to enjoy Tennessee's week in the highly coveted No. 5 spot of the Bottom 10.

5. Tennessee
3-4 "Rocky V": Tommy Morrison portrays the villain in this forgettable film. Vols nemesis Steve Spurrier has a prominent role in UT's forgettable season."

It seems that the VOLS have become the laughing stock of college football this year so maybe we should lighten up and laugh a little too!! ;o)

GO VOLS!! BEAT NOTRE DAME!!

It would be one thing if this is the first time that ESPN has dragged us through the mud but it's not. It doesn't matter if we deserve it or not. It's just that fact that ESPN writers wait and drool for a chance to put Tennessee down. Right GaVol??

The one way to stop people from mocking you is to win.

Now that we've ditched Sanders we should never lose another game. It was all about the coaching. :ermm:

I don't believe this. On the bottom 10 page they have STEVE SPURRIER'S picture beside OUR listing.

Makes you wonder what's behind all this negativity toward UT... UT is 3-4 and is grouped with the likes of other teams that won no games or maybe 1. I think I'll email someone there and see what happens.

Unfortunately TN is the most overrated team in college football since...well, TN was preseason #4 in 2002 and went 8-5, culminating in a blowout loss to upstart Maryland 30-3.

We've lost by double digits to:

'02 BAMA
'02 UGA
'02 MIA
'02 FL
'02 MARY
'03 AUB
'03 UGA
'03 CLEM
'04 AUB
'04 AUB

Does everybody know what the number 5 spot means in ESPN's bottom 10? It's reserved for teams that are normally good but stink it up; Oklahoma and Michigan have both been there this season. We are no different.

Exactly. We are still respected with a nasty defense, just a team with way too many problems in terms of offensive production.

You will find out how wrong you are in the next few weeks!!! I been telling everyone on this freakin site that the problems are not the result of ONE coach. Everyone wants to blame Sanders, and doesn't know what the HELL they are talking about. All the things wrong with him are the same things wrong with the entire coaching staff. But since the offense has struggled, it's all his fault.

I hope he goes to another SEC school and lights up the scoreboard against us.... (in a losing effort)

:eek:lol:

Y'all, let's step back, draw a deep breath, and remember something.

It's frickin' ESPN! Who gives a s*** what those lowlifes think?
