Yup...think I saw OU with #1 offense lmao. Can't even account for losing all that offensive production? LolLOL, espn's preseason fpi is determined by a 10,000 run bayesian simulation that uses historical data as the basis of its predictive model, and updates through the season as the games are played and new data is generated.
Considering that the bayesian model only works to increase the degree of belief in the conditional probability of a particular outcome when you add in new data to the model along with the historical data, the preseason fpi is just a fancy guess based of of last seasons numbers.
