No. 1 Alabama*travels to Knoxville, Tenn. on Saturday for a date with No. 9 Tennessee. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
“We have a couple of guys who’ll be out today, probably,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said Monday. “Hopefully they’ll be back tomorrow. We’re a little banged up after this game. Not serious things, but things that may require another day of rest for several guys including Reuben Foster and Alphonse Taylor.”
Foster and Taylor suffered concussions in Alabama’s 49-30 victory over Arkansas on Saturday. Foster left the game in the third quarter. He was replaced by junior Rashaan Evans. Taylor didn’t play in the second half. Lester Cotton replaced Taylor.
Saban said Foster suffered his injury by hitting his head on the ground. Saban wasn’t sure how Taylor sustained his concussion.

It does look ominous, and when one considers the respective rosters, the phrase "next man up" takes on a different look. We're, no doubt, much deeper and more talented than in previous years under Butch, the the fact remains that we're not at a point where we plug in another 4 or 5 star. If they somehow manage a win Saturday, it will be among the most surprising upsets I've seen UT pull off when you consider that list above.

We need those linemen back for this game.. Hurd is a good blocker, we need him too. Going too have to keep Dobbs upright to have a chance..

I really don't think it's quite as bad as it looks. We haven't had Cam Sutton, Jalen Reeves Maybin, Quarte Sapp or Darrin Kirkland Jr for the past 3 weeks and the toughest part of our schedule. We have pretty strong indication that Hurd will be back. McDowell is questionable (thankfully not doubtful) and could very well play, and we also have strong indications that DKjr will be ready. Weisman and Robertson both have guys (Thomas and Boulware) that performed well in their place on Saturday. Not having Danny O will sting a bit but there are guys in the fold that can make up for his absence. Silver lining: Vickers isn't on the injury report.

Last year at DT at this point we had Danny O, Vickers, Owen Williams. After that, a very out of shape Kmac and Quay Picou. Going into this year's Bama game we have Vickers, Kmac, Tuttle, Kongbo, Phillips, Alexis Johnson and Picou, plus we're at home this time. I'm encouraged. Furthermore, at LB, let's not forget Elliott Berry had 7 tackles (one of which was a TFL) and of course Jumper is playing great football right now. Of course I would rather have all of our original starters playing, but we've made it this far without several of them and we still continue to give ourselves a chance.

No Vickers on this list?

There isn't an official list and Butch doesn't talk about injuries anymore. So you have to go with the unofficial ones.

Some good news, I did read on one of the sites that Cam was scheduled to miss 8 weeks, that would bring him back mid November...so IF we could make it to the SEC Championship, he could play, he would be rusty but I would take it.

I forgot to add that we had 5 sacks in this game last year (the DE position is the same this year except Vereen has more exp....he was just hitting his stride at this point last year since he was having to replace Maggitt). That's against an offensive line that featured two future NFL guys that following spring.

Aw, thats not a big deal. The next guy, beside the guy that's behind the guy that knows the guy that's the next man...up. It's just number 1 ranked Bama, what's the worst that could happen playing with the back ups back ups?

Yes,apparently failed a drug test at the hospital after the game

Your post is pure speculation. There is nothing "apparent" that he failed a drug test. I believe there are several team rule infractions that would get you dismissed. Yes, hitting Butch's critical X times for failing a drug test would do it. So would dumping class X times, etc. It could well be, as we were told, that the timing of the injury and the dismissal are purely coincidental. No link. We don't really know.

We actually have 4 star players sitting on the bench. Bates and Bryant were both 4* players. Bates was a top 100 player. Not sure what's going on there.

We really need Kongbo, Shy, and KMac to step up in this game. Barnett is already a steady force. I'm concerned about the backers too. Lots of pressure on the QB would go a long way in helping them cover. We just need more talent in the secondary. Hope that's a recruiting focus the next couple years.
The good thing is this team has shown remarkable resourcefulness in dealing with adversity. Just another stumbling block to crush and overcome.
