Tennessee adds former Oklahoma OC Seth Littrell to offensive staff

Tennessee has added to its offensive staff by hiring former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Seth Littrell before spring practice.

Idk if it shakes out like that but Littrell would definitely be a more comfortable fit imo for Heupel as much as the fans would hate it. I think this is more Littrell is a friend of Heupel and he can coach damn near any position on offense.

Landry has zero coaching experience.

Another buddy hired? Hey, I'm all for being comfortable with those you work with, but I really hope this guy is a heckuva coach and/or recruiter. Gonna be interesting to see what we look like this season. This roster and staff is all on Heupel. Can't rely on Pruitt recruits anymore. Hope his buddies work out for him.

Not sure it was all on him. They lost just about every WR and a lot of the O-line. Their freshman QB also got broke by UT's defense.

Ask Alabama, who lost to OU 24-3 & was demolished in every offensive category. Sooners got better as the season went along.

That doesn't really mean anything to Vol fans since Littrell was fired half way through the season.

Pretty sure they had replaced him by that point. He definitely wasn’t the OC. It was Findlay.

Littrell has some good years as an OC and at a lot of positions. Bringing him on is a positive. I’m just not sure he’s a good fit at OC. To be fair I’m not sure Halzle is either though. Littrell does have better experience at OC than Joey.

IMO, this is a shot across the bow for Hazle. It leads me to believe that Heupel saw what we saw in terms of offensive production, especially in the passing game.

He made a bowl game in 6 of 7 years as HC at North Texas

OU had CB playing WR because of injury. It was a nightmare for them.

I'm going to trust the hire, but this would indicate that the problem at Oklahoma was lack of player talent and not lack of coaching. That may or may not be the truth, we will just have to watch to find out.

I think his hands were tied schematically from all the injuries. Patch work offensive line, No running game, 2 deep and a few in the 3 deep at WR were injured. Ill hold judgement for now, but OU was absolutely handcuffed on offense.

Not necessarily. Seth was looking. As soon as he was let go at OU I figured he would find his way onto our staff. He can coach almost any position on offense.

I think that was more that they were missing their top 5-6 WR's. What offense would be a dumpster fire that the WR and other offensive injuries they had.

He was kept to continue to run Jeff Lebby's offense and he runs a form of Kendall Brielles offense. Oklahoma just didn't have the players to run that offense because there QB went to Oregon and WR's was hurt. Seth Littrell will be a good fit.

Yep and he’s being brought in as an analyst. Slam dunk when you can add a guy like this as an analyst.

A fresh set of eyes outside the Heupel's offensive coaching staff, this is a good thing. Offense has been stagnant the past 2 years, maybe this guy can help.
