I saw in one of the articles on the first page (Huge Scrimmage Today) that there has been a transfer named Minor Bowens working with the first team at DT. Does anyone know anything about him such as size or what year he is (Frosh, Soph...) anything. This is the first I have heard of him and am looking for some information. Thanks for helping out.

Thanks for the info guys. Has anyone seen him play or seen or heard anything from practice. It doesn't look like he has a whole lot of game experience, which kind of makes me wonder why he was practicing with the first team. Is he just a diamond in the rough or is ha a legitimate player. I just can't see someone tranfering from TSU to UT without having some potential. Any more information would be great. Oh and Rex or Lex or any other Guru's feel free to chime in.

Hubbs said on VQ a couple of days ago that Bowens sat out last year and is ready to go now. He also said that Bowens should get some snaps this year and he will definitley have chances to see the field more. Some other people on VQ have said that he has been impressive so far. Not outstanding, but solid...
It sounds like the DT rotation may end up being better than most people think with Williams, Brown, Hughes, Walls, Bowens and with Orgeron and Monte being two of the best coaches in the land... :dance2:

Thanks Vader I had never heard of this guy. Hopefully he will be able to contribute this year. We could use some extra depth on the defensive front.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but we might have to scratch Brown from your list of DL depth.

But there is still hope that V.Thomas, C.Nelson, or A.Mathis will get stung in the azz by a bee and they would go into a beast-mode, offense-disrupting rage. It could happen?

If it is indeed a torn meniscus for Brown, we will have nothing to worry about. He will be fine by the time the season rolls around. Actually, he will probably be ready when the summer activities really heat up (if it's orthascopic surgery). That injury is not as bad as it sounds...

Yeah it just depends if they have to actually repair it and stitch it up or if they just have to scope it. If they just have to trim the torn part away he will be able to walk out of surgery.

please stop saying that without knowing what the injury truly is. There are different types of tears and some need to just be cleaned up, removed, replaced, etc. Could take 2 weeks and could take a couple months Nothing worse than trying to come back too early.

Bad thing about it is it's a lingering injury. He's already had one surgery to try and repair it. I am anxious about Wes.

Did you not read the very first sentence of my post where I said "If it is indeed a torn meniscus?"

According TOS, Minor Bowens has returned to try to play this fall. With our thin ranks at this position, this is a major pickup.
