Creamer was supposed to have transferred out. Is Jumper now at TE too? If so, I must have missed that one. Edit: NM about Will Jumper. I got him mixed up with Colton who plays LB.

Creamer is still listed on the roster but I'm pretty sure he was transferring out. That was announced a couple of months ago. Maybe he changed his mind but I haven't heard anything about it.

Does anybody know anything about Creamer staying now or officially has transferred out of the program? I think Freak was even the one that posted the thread about Creamer leaving the program but it's been at least a couple months ago.

I don't remember posting a thread about it, but I do remember Butch saying that Creamer was looking to transfer. Like you, I don't remember hearing anything else about it since.

This was from Patrick Brown on May 5th regarding Creamer:

Jones indicated third-year sophomore tight end Neiko Creamer would look to transfer after the spring semester.

The son of former Tennessee defensive back/punt returner Andre Creamer, he played in just one game last season and was buried on the depth chart in spring practice.

"Neiko Creamer is going to look (around)," Jones said. "Neiko's worked very hard. We're going to help him find a spot where he feels (he) fits in and he can go in and help immediately."

Vols have only 1 proven TE on the roster, let's indeed hope, coach Larry Scott can get the TE's SEC worthy, rather quickly.
Go Vols

It may not have been you but somebody did. I thought it was longer than a month ago but you know how times flys.

So, that was reported on May 5th which was less than a month ago. I could have sworn it was longer than that I seen this news reported but I guess not.

Jason Croom counts as a good bit more than nothing.

Hell, Croom is probably the receiver/tight end I'm most confident in for this season.

Definitely agree. Croom is very capable at TE. He's even more of an athlete than Ethan Wolf.

TAF, you clearly just wanted an excuse to put a picture of a bunch of nice co-ed butts on the forums for our appreciation, and the TE angle was your best shot. I salute you for that. :)

Strangely, the whole thread then turned into a rather more serious discussion of football. That has to seem a bit whimsical to you. Heh.

Plus incoming freshmen Devante Brooks and Austin Pope.

I think Pope has the better chance of contributing his freshman season. I'm going to say Brooks will take a while to develop & probably won't be until his sophomore season or redshirt FR season.

Very true. I think Brooks has all the talent in the world, but coming off two ACL tears (I think it was) is going to take a while to get over.

Wolf is pro player... Croom is a complete wildcard who can't stay healthy... Any production is a bonus 39 total catches in 4 seasons ...

Croom and Wolf together should be the best TE duo in the SEC. Croom has WR speed mixed with a TE body. Wolf has already established himself as one of the best TE's in the league. No reason we shouldn't have a big year this year.

TE is actually one of the few positions I'm a little concerned about. Wolf is the only proven player at the position. Yeah Croom played WR but TE is a little different which requires blocking inside on a lot of occasions and if your TE misses the blitz your QB or RB is getting blown up. So if Wolf would happen to get hurt it would definitely make me a little worrisome considering there are no proven TE behind him on the depth chart.

Croom is injury prone and will be getting hit harder by bigger players at TE.. Concerning

If this is real....I mean damn. Built for power not speed.

Ok Biop, we get it. You don't like Croom. I personally think TE is a good fit for Croom. He's bigger and more athletic than Wolf and his physicality was almost wasted at WR. He should present matchup problems for LBs if Jones and DeBord decide to actually utilize a tightend this year. And I certainly see him having more success in 2016 than Devante Brooks coming off two ACLs as a freshman and Eli Wolf who's still trying to get big and strong enough to play the position. Pope is behind the 8 ball as well as a freshman.

I think/hope we could see a decent 1-2 punch out of Ethan and Jason.
