North Carolina 5-1. Guess the decision to retain Fulmer after '05 and not pursue Butch Davis has really paid dividends.

UNC's good now, they just don't have the depth yet. When Davis starts double, even triple layering positions they'll run away with the ACC, which is why I don't think he'll leave UNC. He could possibly win the ACC and take over a FSU like dominance over that conference for years to come.

How do you know for sure that they would absolutely beat Auburn? what are you basing that off of?.. UNC barely got past Mcneese state, Yea Butch Davis is a good coach but there needs to be some big wins over top 25 teams before he is compared to an sec coach

He's basing it on the fact that Auburn lost to one of the 3 worst BCS conference teams yesterday.

yea but im still not sold on UNC, butch is a great coach, but i just dont believe that they would have a much better result through the first 6 games than what we have

you must not know a lot about college football then have you seen the players Davis has recruited in the past. And what this man can do. Davis would be my 1st pick to replace CPF but it's not going to happen he will not leave UNC.

yes i looked, just as you did, at the post in a thread last week at the list of players that Butch recruited, but that still doesnt mean UNC would be in any better situation as we are in right now

To all of the naysayers that keep saying Butch won't come here, please explain why? I would bet anything that if we went after him balls to the wall with a blank check, he's wearing the orange.

He's making about $1.5 now, offer him $3 million. He would restore luster to UT immediately, both in recruiting and on the field with coaching. We would have competent assistants, not just loyal cronies.

Please explain.

We would be in a better situation right now had we played Stehens in the UCLA game, or better yet, had an open QB competition. We could easily be 4-2.
