Tennessee #11 in the AP

we needed arky and ucla to pull the upsets. hard to jump other quality teams when theyre taking care of business.

That wasn't the main point of my post. My main point was we wouldn't get treated right if we just beat the #1 team in the country.

We keep winning & it will all work out though. Polls can't cheat us if we're either undefeated or a one loss team. :)

Gator grad here. I lurk here a lot but never registered before so I can't post a thread, but congrats on the win. You were bound to get us sooner or later so I can't even be mad. Plus BigVolDaddy doesn't have to die now and he's a blast to watch. Good luck! See you next year! :salute:

Even if we win the next three, I still don't see the Vols jumping the winner of Clemson/Louisville, Michigan and Ohio State. The press is too eaten up with Michigan, OSU is pretty legit and could go undefeated until they face Michigan and either Clemson or Louisville would be hard to displace from the top 5.

Having said that to say this, if (big if) they go undefeated through the next five weeks, the first FBS Playoff poll on November 1st would be hard pressed to ignore an undefeated UT.

Homie, if we beat the current #1 team in Bama... after defeating Florida, Georgia, and aTm... We would be number one. No way they can ignore that.

UT should be much higher than 11---no respect from the media and coaches, as usual.

They're setting the polls up IMO to try and lock out the SEC. Try this scenario, if we or Bama based on present rankings end up with a loss, say we beat them at Neyland and lose in the SECCG or vice versa, we both are at the top of the SEC with one loss each and locked out of the playoffs. It's a Big 10, Stanford, ACC, Houston show if the SEC does not produce an undefeated champion IMO.
