I'm not sure what's more ridiculous during the 2010-19 stretch, the 1-19 Against Bama/UF or the 5-5 against Vandy.

Fair enough. Let’s look at them then.

Bill Battle- HC from 1970-1976. He went 59-22. That’s a 37% winning %. He was 22-18 in SEC play. His highest finish in the SEC was 2nd.

Majors- HC from 1977-79 (just focusing on the 70s per your statement). He went 16-17 overall and 7-11 in SEC play.

So from 1970-1979 we went 75-35. In SEC play we went 29-29. Our highest in conference finish was 2nd. Division titles? Zero. Conference titles? Zero. So by all means please tell me how we were some kind of powerhouse program in the 70s.
I was referring to Bama cheating then

What’s even more depressing is we really haven’t ever dominated any of the really historically good SEC teams. We aren’t a top tier SEC team and going by this chart we never really have been.
What are you talking about? We haven’t really dominated any of the historically good SEC programs?
Auburn 6-0-1 from 1989-1999
LSU 17-2-2 from 1934-1999
UGA 9-0-0 1989-1999
Alabama 10-2-0 1995-2006

That looks like domination to me. And yes, historically Tennessee is still the second best program in the SEC. This despite the last 15 years being as bad of a stretch that the program has ever had in modern times.

Some people look for any reason to minimize how great we have been

Serious question though, what's more important at this point, the last 15 years or 100 plus years ago? Here are the Top 25 CFB win totals since the founding of our conference, like I said above Heupel has GOT TO be the guy or we are going to lose a lot of these traditional UT points of pride like Top 10 in wins, 2nd in the conference, etc. We are in basically a dead heat now, Pruitt, Butch and Dooley squandered our margin for error, just like Ray Goff/Jim Donnan (UGA) and Curley Hallman/Gerry Dinardo (LSU) helped build it. Everybody's had good times and bad times, unfortunately our bad times are the most recent and we're more or less tied with UGA for the whole with LSU not far behind.
