Tennesseans: Fools of the Day

It is likely the media set VN up for this mess. Schiano said he was clueless. Currie hasn't said squat and he told us not to believe anything till he did. Gruden silent. Lots of fake news or "insider" talk with no links or sources. I hope this unsocial media didn't scare off a really great coach.

You should be proud, the fans stopped a bad coach and a bad person driving this program right into the ground. I'm proud that good people with morals drew a line and made currie flinch.

Why? We don’t want a bull$hit hire with bad morals and basically what would amount to Dooley/Jones 2.0. Sorry that you’re embarrassed that the fan base stood up to the stupidity of the administration.

Even if you leave out what happened at Penn St this was a **** hire. He should have never been considered just from a football standpoint.

Cringeworthy is hiring a man who witnesses a child rape and does nothing about it.

McQueary testified under oath regarding what he was told about Schiano.

Where is Schiano's sworn statement refuting McQueary's remarks?

Where is the defamation lawsuit against McQueary?

I'm embarrassed my alma mater is run by clueless idiots who consistently fail to properly vet the people they hire.

I'm embarrassed also.

It'll take 20 years to get over the negative publicity this will generate.

I'm 76 and had hoped see one more competitive team but this ends that hope.

He’s right. You guys went on a public smear campaign when there’s ZERO evidence of any wrong doing. Check out the “did you have the facts thread”

Get ready to google your next coach.

Yes, I'm embarrassed - Not for the people who are loyal VFL fans. Embarrassed that we have incompetent administration that didn't see this coming and would allow this to happen. Hopefully they are exposed.

Rumors are that we owe $20m to Schiano. I can't quite get my head around that - but it's more than twice Butch's buyout. If that is the case, not only Currie's head should roll, but on up the tree.

Actually proud the fans stood up and said heck no to hiring that PR dumpster fire of a coach

Have not agreed with much of anything you have said the past several years.......but buddy you just hit the nail on the proverbial head...listening to all the talking heads the past few hours...this has not ever really happened to this extent ever before.

I am not sure if the outrage has to do with the character and history of Schiano or his perceived....but relevant..... lack of success.

What hope can we have now that Currie will make a good decision? He should be fired asap.

Sorry you and maybe 5% of the fan base is upset, the rest of us are ecstatic we dodged a bullet.

No Schiano? Makes me very proud to be a Vols fan today.

Fan voice was overwhelmingly heard today. Power of the people indeed.

"I say it's great.. to be.. a TN Vol!!!"

Go Big Orange!
