Tenn to SEC West?

wont happen; geographic issue and it would displace UT from playing most of its rivals

It would put us in a division with our biggest rival. Who would we switch with?

A move to the West would be something I'd actually welcome. Makes our traditional rival have more importance in terms of a divisional game. The only problem is that the bottom 3 in the West is tougher than the bottom 3 in the East.

Ky and Vandy would go west before Tennessee would.

If they picked up Texas and A&M then you would see something like Bama and Auburn pushed East.

If its two east coast teams then Ky and Vandy go west.

it though completely throws off the UF and UGA rivalries, and the actual long term historic rivals Vandy and UK (save Bama is a historic rival, but we got it set up so that we play them every year)

the only thing rivalry wise it would help is start up again the Tenn-Ark rivalry that was yearly from....i think it was 92 or 93 until 2002

Sounds like (hopefully is) one of those ideas that will never see daylight.

If you can't get a Texas, an A&M, or whoever, I still say you draw in a small school that has basketball value and the appropriate geographic location like Memphis and just put them in the West to counter any east additions

Never happen IMO.....plus I think the west would be a little tougher....Vandy and Kentucky make the east easier

But you have to admit that Vandy and Kentucky have been improving these last couple of seasons, seems like games for us are not as easy as they once were. That's why I think the division will probably stay the same for now, unless the SEC decides to add a powerhouse like Texas

It would also bring back Auburn who was a rival before the division split.

I still don't think it would ever happen. Vandy is further west than TN, so I'd suspect they would shift before TN.

I don't know that its them getting better....I think its that we haven't been as good as we are accustomed to

If it were just against TN, you would have a point, but Vandy and KY are better against all teams - not just TN.

Our biggest current rivals, but moves us into a division with our all time biggest rival and an old rival in Auburn. I would much rather play Auburn in September than Florida.

That has more to do with us becoming more like Vandy and Kentucky.

How does us becoming more like Vandy and KY have anything to do with Vandy and KY playing FL, AL, GA, and other SEC schools tougher? Not sure I follow your logic on this one.

This would be a 50-50 for me. I dont know if I would like this at all. Only if we played Florida every year. I dont really care about playin Vandy and KY jelly....

Vandy is the only SEC East team in the Central Time zone. They are the logical choice to move to that division if a realignment were to take place. I think it would be stupid to retain the division names of "East" and "West" if you start screwing with the geography and having teams drive/fly past schools in the other division to get to their own divisional games.

Whoever comes up with this tripe needs to be shot, allowed to recuperate, then shot again.

The strength of programs doesn't matter as much as geography. It wasn't long ago when the east had most of the powerhouses and the west only a couple. It will swing to the east again at some point.

Vandy and Kentucky aren't rivals, at least not from a football perspective. They're more or less, irrelevant. We'd be trading our second and third biggest rivalry for our first biggest rivalry.
