I had never thought of doing this, but while I was reading through my newsletters today I saw one that stuck out like a sore thumb because of the bias against Kiffin. I thought since VN seems to love these types of comments I would share. Then I thought I should share the other newsletters as well since there would also be interest in them.

These are from premium content, but they are only 1/100 of the entire newsletters if not less. I know we are not supposed to post the entire articles so hopefully this will be ok since it is a very small portion of each one.

If this one doesn't get deleted or anything I may post just the UT portion of these each week if there is interest.

I have other info including stats and free write ups, but am not going to go overboard this time and will just post the UT portion of the newsletters.

FLORIDA 49 - Tennessee 13—UT’s brazen HC Kiffin liked the free publicity
for his ill-advised statements in preseason (see Looking for an Angle), but those
words only add fuel (plenty of it) to the fire for overpowering Florida, which has
won last two meetings by combined 119-26 score. Vols still-unsteady sr. QB
Crompton (5 ints. TY) likely to self-destruct, especially without much ground
support (mere 2.7 ypc vs. Bruins). Consequently, Gator superstar Tebow (TDP
in 30 straight games) and his blazing playmakers enjoy numerous scoring
opportunities vs. overburdened Vol “D” that was seen finger-pointing in locker
room following UCLA loss. Meyer’s money-making squad (18-4 vs. spread last
22 on board) convincingly breaks school-record for consecutive wins (13).

TENNESSEE at FLORIDA...Urban Meyer 4-0 SU, 3-1 vs. line vs.
Vols during Fulmer years. Gators have also covered 4 of last 5 in
series. Urban now 22-6 vs. spread last 28 on board, and Gators 9-2
vs. line last 11 as DD Swamp chalk. Tech edge-Florida, based on
team trends.

@Florida (-29) over Tennessee
Selection and analysis by Kevin O’Neill
In front of a group of boosters on signing day, new
Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin heralded the signing of
one of his new recruits by accusing Florida’s Urban
Meyer of cheating by texting the kid on his visit to
the UT campus. That is actually not a violation, so
Kiffin was reprimanded by the league. Meyer
continues to be aggravated by Kiffin’s shot. Meyer
has a friendly working relationship with Monte Kiffin,
Lane’s dad and defensive coordinator, and Monte
visited Gainesville from Tampa Bay to spend a day
with Meyer and his staff a couple of winters ago. In
his Sunday teleconference, Meyer was asked if that
made the slight even more hurtful, "Actually, it did,"
he said. "I was fairly close to his father. Monte and I
have a great relationship.”
Poking a stick at Meyer probably isn’t the wisest
thing to do in the SEC zoo. Remember in ‘07 when
Georgia purposefully took a penalty with an entireteam
end zone celebration following their opening
TD against the Gators. Meyer repayed that favor
by continuing to pound on the Bulldogs long after
the outcome had been decided in Jacksonville last
season. With 2 minutes left the Gators were still
passing the ball up 49-10. And that was against a
team with a far superior talent level to this
Tennessee squad, as UT’s talent level is considered
to be second-rate by informed SEC observers.
Florida’s 30-6 win in Knoxville last year was on the
heels of a 59-20 dismantling in the Swamp two
years ago. Meyer kept his foot on that gas in that
one and is much more motivated to do so this time
around. When Kiffin was dropping his accusations
on signing day Meyer supposedly got an ocean of
text messages from his players imploring him to
“save our timeouts”, which references a time out
called to rub Georgia’s nose in it last season.
And there are some numbers that indicate that this
line is not completely unreasonable. Last
November both of these clubs played at Vanderbilt.
Tennessee was a 3-point dog while Florida was a
24-point favorite. That’s a 27-point difference with
no adjustment for home field whatsoever. The
Swamp with a bunch of growling Gators hungry for
blood will be a wild scene on Saturday. Imagine
being poor Jonathan Crompton? The limited Vol
senior QB (there just isn’t anyone any better on the
roster) had 3 INT’s and passed for less than 4 yards
per attempt at home against UCLA on Saturday. He
won’t be at home on Saturday. Here you have a
rebuilding team with big holes taking on a team that
may have the best offense in the country, the best
defense in the country, and from the secretaries to
the walk-ons, to the seniors, to the head coach
simply want to annihilate their opponent Florida by
37.

2H FLORIDA over Tennessee - The Vols have avg’d just 41 rush ypg vs UF the last 3 years (-11, 37, 96). The team who has rushed for more yds has won 17 of the last 19. The Gators are 11-3-1 ATS S/’94 in their first SEC game. UF had a 3-0 TO edge and got a 78 yd PR TD from James to win 30-6 (-7’) LY and the FD’s were even at 16 and UT had a 258-243 yd edge. The Gators are the best team in the country and this is their only game in the month of Sept that matters especially after UT’s new coach Kiffin made some disparaging comments about Meyer in the offssn. UF (-7’) won their last HG vs UT by 39 and that UT team made it to the SEC Title game. UF has our #1 off and #1 def and #2 spec tms and faces UT’s #45 off, #10 def and #65 spec tms. UF’s Meyer can name the score here as UF is fresh off of 2 blowout wins (outscored Char So and Troy 118-9 and outgained them by an avg of 644-231) in which the subs did most of the work while UT lost a hard-fought battle with UCLA 19-15 last week and has to travel. UT had a 208-186 yd edge but a 4-1 TO deficit LW. QB Crompton has struggled under pressure and is avg 163 ypg (63%) with a 5-5 ratio (3 int and a fmbl lost LW) while Tebow is avg 213 ypg (64%) with a 5-0 ratio. All UF has done is cover 15 of 16 regular season games. Sounds like a September 5H, doesn’t it?

--------------------

Lane Kiffi n, the Volunteers new HC, talked quite a good game over the
summer and riled up Gator Nation to the point where he might require
an escort to get in and out of the Swamp on Saturday. If that wasn’t bad
enough, the loudmouth poster-boy must also fi nd a way to fi x an offense
that went AWOL against UCLA. Florida is 4-1 ATS in the last fi ve meetings
and 6-2 ATS in the last eight at home in the series. Urban Meyer keeps
building Gator bank accounts with an 18-5-1 ATS at home off a SU and
ATS win, including 10-0 SU and ATS in the last 10 games. Keep in mind
the Volunteers have covered the number in only six of 41 games in SU
conference defeats as dog. Yes, this is the most points UT has taken in our
database, which stretches back to 1980. But the Volunteers just might get
more than a mouthful today and the lights in Gainesville could stay on
way beyond midnight! Remember, god-like QB Tim Tebow has promised
to cover for the sacrileges laid upon his coach by the heretical Kiffi n.
Together now: Let’s do the chump.

FLORIDA 48 - Tennessee 10 - (3:30 - CBS) -- Quite a turnaround for Vols, who
came from 657 yds to just 208, with QB Crompton coming from 5 TD passes
to 3 INTs. UT was held below 15 pts 7 times LY, with LW dredging up those
inept efforts. Not proper medicine in facing this juggernaut, which has 455-117
pt edge in last 10 lined gms (+160½ ATS). Bucking Gators is simply pure folly.

Tennessee +29.5 Florida
Recommendation: Tennessee O/U NL
Florida (-7) 30 at Tennessee 6 - 2008 12:30 pm ET (CBS)
Situational - UT’s offense is still struggling with QB
Jonathan Crompton. Last week against UCLA, the Vols could
muster just 208 total yards. Meanwhile Florida has crushed
two inferior competitors by a combined 118-9 score.
Fundamental - Clearly the Gators hold every conceivable
fundamental edge. They also have plenty of emotional
motivation as well. Tennessee Coach Lane Kiffin incorrectly
accused Urban Meyer of cheating on the recruiting trail.
Additionally Kiffin vowed to end the program’s four-game
losing streak against Florida. Of course the Gators copied
the quote and posted it all over the team’s training facility
this summer. Game Notes - This is the biggest point spread
that Florida has been asked to cover in a SEC conference
game. Final Take - Tennessee’s defense is capable of
slowing down Florida, somewhat and with a more than
four touchdown cushion, we’ll back the underdog.

*FLORIDA over TENNESSEE by 25
With Monte Kiffin manning a talented defense, UT could make this interesting if it wasn’t
for one thing….they have no QB. Current starter Crompton accounted for four
turnovers at home last week in a loss to UCLA. Gotta think Vols coach Kiffin puts the
offense on the shoulders of his line and tailbacks. Run, run, run…punt…and play
defense. After the off-season jawing that went on between these head coaches, the barroom
knee-jerk reaction is to say, “Meyer will crush Kiffin by 50.” He’ll win, but the
Tennessee defense will not make life easy for Tebow & Co. FLORIDA, 35-10

Florida* over Tennessee by 26
Lane Kiffin did far too much in the off-season to create a Florida passion for this
game that does not help the current Vols in any way. And arguably may not help
much for the future, either. FLORIDA 38-12.
