Even better, have two 54 game seasons. 3 month regular season, 1 month for playoffs and 2 months for a break. Then repeat the cycle.

That sounds a lot better, assuming 8 teams make the playoffs rather than 16 (more than half the league for crying out loud). You gotta win 16 games to win a title. That's almost a regular season in the NCAA.

With the disappointing ending to football season, I atleast have my Memphis Grizzlies to look forward to. That's something to take the sting away.
