Just follow this link and see the type of talent Tee is responsible for landing. Many idiots may say....well USC has done nothing with the players....they would be right, they'd be idiots to suggest it's Tee's fault. USC has made horrible headcoaching decisions coupled with tying the hands of people i.e. Tee Martin. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE TALENT THAT'LL BE COMING TO KNOXVILLE!! Tee brings an element that'll propel UT near the top of recruiting ranks. Tee has turned down several roles at various schools to come back home!

So how would you explain all the great recurits / recruiting classes Botch brought in. Yes obviously UT recruits itself. Now that we actually have a coach / coaching staff lookoout!!!!!!!

I didn't say that UT didn't recruit itself. I said it didn't recruit itself like USC does. USC also does not have as much competition for recruits as UT does, and they lie right in the middle of a football talent hotbed, which UT does not.

The fact that Tee recruited talented guys while at USC shouldn't be impressive or surprising. Any coach with a couple functioning brain cells should be able to pull top talent there.

So if the person is correct in saying usc has done nothing with the talent, how does that make them an idiot?

That's why they're refusing services are journalists and not coaches. I daresay that they would do the same kind of job that Butch did if they actually had to perform for a living.

So does UT. You mean to tell me clowns like Dooley and Jones are great recruiters. We have huge stadium, great fan base, top of the line facilities, nice town, a top 20 overall program, tradition. Tennessee recruits itself. Now we are just going to get better with great recruiters.

Whoa..slow your roll. Tee is good, but he is not ready to be deified yet. This is just another cog in the unstoppable machine that seems to be building. I truly hope we see a big jump in on field performance from year one to year two with the team.

If you think that UT recruits itself to the same extent as USC does, you need to take the orange-colored glasses off.

USC also has all that stuff you described minus the great fan base. Plus it is in LA.

UT and USC have been in a roughly similar spot.

Traditional programs, struggling to find a good fit at HC, losing to important rivals, and still recruiting pretty well (normally)

Hopefully, Tee bring his magic and lands some beast here.

So when Tee plucks a few top notch recruits from out west and brings them to UT because of the relationships he's formed over the years out there, will this be the Tee Martin effect, or just the USC effect? Maybe you'll suggest that USC recruits itself so well they can recruit for UT too....

You really think UT recruits itself just as well as USC recruits itself?

I love our fan base, I really do, but man, we do have a really hard time seeing things from a different perspective.

USC is every bit the elite program UT is, has all the trappings UT does, has had more recent success, does not have anywhere near the competition for top recruits as Tennessee does, and is located in the middle of Los Angeles. It recruits itself to an extent that UT does not.

I believe that he will be here one season. He will recruit well but will be gone before next year's recruiting class signs
One & Done
We will still benefit from him being here for the one season

If Tee is only here for 1 season and we lose YAC Johnson as our WR coach then I don't think it will be worth it.

If Tee turns out to be good for out program then I hope he stays at least 3 or 4 years.

We need the coaching consistency badly.

If Tee is only pulling recruits from out west from previous ties there, that would actually tell me he isn't that impressive of a recruiter. If he has big time recruiting chops, the West Coast kids he could pick off would be great, but I'd like to see him pull a ton of kids from places like Charlotte, Atlanta, or Alabama.

These "lists" can be spun in a lot of different ways. Not saying he isn't a good recruiter, but who knows the circumstances involved with each player. What were the time frames of signings? How long has it been since he signed someone elite? I hope he rakes them in, but we will see.
