Tecmo Bowl Playbook for Florida

While chatting with a friend earlier, i was asked about what i thought Florida would try to do offensively. I said if i were the beaver, I'd run 4 plays from the pistol formation, with each play having their fastest receiver in motion. 3 of the 4 plays would be runs, a handoff to the back, a handoff to the receiver, or a fake handoff, qb keeps off tackle. The 4th play would be a random play action ran about 6-8 times, with Callaway going deep. This was said in "blue font" so to speak, but unfortunately, i feel like Florida could literally do this and gain 400+ yards on us easily. What does everyone else think? Should i really feel like our defense couldn't be destroyed by a bad offense running 4 plays?

I think you will need a bit more than 4 plays. Didnt TECMO bowl give you 8?

Also, ive learned on vn that the act of goving the ball to a running back or the QB running toward thr los with the ball in his hand is considered a trickery gimmick and we dont do well with that. Also if he throws it over our defenders to a teammate known as a reciever, thats a bit tricky as well.

Other than that, our defense is good, no issues actually looking to go from 13 to 2nd in the sec.

When was the last time Florida had 400 yards offense? I don't know that they have had that many yards in their last two games combined. Not going to happen.

Edit: well they did against us last year so never mind.

Tecmo definitely only gave 4 plays. 2 rushing, 2 passing

except for Miami and San Francisco, they both had three passing plays. Chicago was def. the best team,they had Willie Gault!
I majored in tecmo bowl when I was at UT from 87 to 91. Not sure how I ended up with a business degree. lol

They don't have Bo Jackson or Jerry Rice.
