I watched as much as I could stomach of a slavishly adoring documentary about Tim Tebow the other night. He's an admirable kid in many ways, but what can't be denied is that he's dumb as a bag of nails.

In one section, he and his dad - who reminded me of David Koresh with a little Jim Jones thrown in - are sorting through a mountain of recruiting letters, one of which was from Tennessee. Dad asks him what he thinks about Tennessee, and Timmy mutters something unintelligible (I rewound several times trying to make it out) before saying what sounded like "I went up there and I don't really want to go back".

Now this was ages ago, and what else should I expect from a kid who ends up with a statue of himself erected outside The Swamp. Nevertheless, it irritated the hell out of me, not only that Timmy so conclusively dismisses Tennessee while seriously considering the Mike Shula-led Bama but also that ESPN chose Tennessee to sit atop the on-camera reject pile.

Maybe I heard it wrong. Did anyone else see it?

Meh.

Could care less about the opinion and thought process of a running back pretending to be a QB.

I couldn't care less what he thinks of UT or anything else. He is the most overrated person on this planet. Cant play scrub teams forever. Play the Packers, Steelers, Ravens, Pats so this love fest will stop!!

Tebow dumb as a rock. But I do admire what he has been able to accoplish and his faith. With that said, he is one big lick on the knee from being finished. Mark my words...that style won't last long in the NFL.

Why is this being discussed....Tebow recruitment is long gone...Maybe I missed something....What Tebow has to do today with Tennessee football and in this forum is beyond me....They should give out tickets and fines for posting in the wrong forum about things that are totally irrelevant to Tennessee football....at present....

This belongs in the Pub where I can get a beer to discuss it....

Its like you were jilted....Unless he learns to throw the ball his career will be done.....Its over and done....so let him go....

yeah, we lose out on recruits all the time. For every recruit who doesn't like Knoxville, there is another who would love to play for Tennessee. So it balances itself out.

Tebow liked Tennessee he was ignored on his visit here. The staff was giving all there attention to a 5* from North Carolina.

Why is he dumb again? He seems pretty intelligent to me. He spoke highly of UT in his book.

Yeah. None of these people have read any of his book. I scanned through it looking selfishly for references to UT or his games against us and found that he did like UT, but while he was here, not more than one coach talked to him the whole time he was here. They were too involved with their J. Crompton infatuation to give him any attention. Anyone take that trade now, Crompton for Tebow? I sure would, and anyone with even a lick of common sense would agree.

I read his book (great read btw) and he did like UT at first. but like posters above have said he didn't like how he was treated when you visited, so that kinda eliminated them rather quickly.
