No, I dont want to lose any but the following teams should not beat us. These games should be an automatic win. Agree?

1. Southern Miss
2. Arkansas St.
3. Miss St.
4. Louisiana-Laf
5. Vandy
6. Kentucky

6 games

We should not lose to any teams on our schedule. Will we? odds say it's very likely but we have the ability to win them all.

Southern Miss is not going to be automatic. They're a decent team, and the game is sandwiched right in between Cal and Florida. You can almost guarantee that we'll come out flat for it, and Southern Miss is too good for us to just expect to show up and win.

I'm not willing to call Kentucky automatic either. They'll be pretty good this year (for them), the game is in Lexington, and that's a series full of close calls for UT. Sooner or later we're not going to pull one of those out.

Four "automatic" wins. And that's not even giving Vandy any credit, and they beat us two years ago.

Well there are just certain teams that you never expect to lose to, like Memphis, Vandy, and Arkansas St. no matter how bad Tennessee is or how good they are.

I agree that all of those games SHOULD be automatic wins. Cal and SC SHOULD also be automatic wins. Traditionally, Bama, Florida and Ga are the only teams that SHOULD put talent on the field equal to UT's.

Whether or not they ARE automatic...that is another story.

OK but dont you think our program should be in a place where SM and Kentucky are automatic?

I do think they should almost always be automatic.

However, USM is the perfect example of a trap game and Kentucky lost to us by 5 on the road. It could be a tough matchup, even though Kentucky won't be as good.

What's "automatic," anyway? If a team beats you once out of 25 games, does that remove them from the "auto" category?

The Cats and the Doors and the Fightin' Okras are about as automatic as you can get, but there is still a reason why they play the games.

All of the first six mentioned should be automatic. We should expect to win the Cal, Ark, and SC games as well. FLA, GA, and possibly ALA fall under tossups.

We certainly in a fairly good position to beat everyone on our schedule, but odds are we won't.

At this point I think we are better than everyone on our schedule, but I think we'll have a few slipups. If we lose to Cal and then Florida it is going to be a very very long season. My prediction is very best case a 1 loss season, and worst case 6-5. Likely I think is 10-3 (if we don't win the East), or 10-4 if we do because we would lose to LSU.

If we start out 1-2 then I predict we will be lucky to win 7 games, but if we're 3-0 or 2-1 then I think we'll win atleast 10 games.

While I don't see Vandy beating us this year, I wouldn't totally look past them just yet... I saw on I think ESPN that they are returning 19 starters including some guys who could be stars. I wouldn't put it past them to really surprise some people this year.

I typed that wrong I meant to say that there isn't a team on our schedule that we aren't as good as. Just based on a team vs. team breakdown I can't see any obvious losses likes last year I thought Florida and LSU were, just a bunch of tossups.

One thing that will help prevent us from completely going on a downhill slide like we did in 05 is having a proven senior qb.

but they just beat us 2 years ago. It hasn't been 20 years between losses to Vandy yet so I can't see how we'll lose :lolabove:

I think you guys will be a very good team by week 5 or week 6. I'm very glad we are getting you early.
