all won, so I guess we will not move up in poll.
I was hoping N.C State would hold on to lead over Florida State, but of course not.

You know when we have struggled against non ranked teams we dropped even if we won, but doubt that will be the case especially since we played Tn Tech.

I mean teams like Michigan and Clemson beat their opponent even worse than we beat Tn Tech, so we should have done that to Tn Tech.

We could have scored 100 if we wanted to. What's the point of rubbing salt in techs wounds?

We would be top 10 now if we had beaten SC. That game still really bother me. I am trying to snap and clear but it is hard.

Beating up an FCS team doesnt normally move you up in the rankings win convincingly over the rest of the teams on the schedule might

I agree beating up on an FCS team normally will not move you up in poll, but not beating up on them will drop you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I said we (TN) mostly had things to prove to themselves after the week of news we have had imo.

Can't agrue with that. Its the drawback to playing an FCS school. Win big no big deal. Thats whats expected. Lose or win a close game you couldnt finish an FCS opponent off

Style points DO matter, but I can't blame the AP or Coaches for leaving Tenn out as they gave us the benefit of the doubt when we played Tex A&M, but then we were UNPREPARED vs S. Carolina and they were done w/ us after that..........

The blowout loss to Bama, then after a 2 week bye lose to a frosh QB in his 2nd game for their 3rd loss.......
No reason for top 25 discussion......the Hype was indeed real, but was it just Hype after all, you decide.:hi:

This is fair, but very from the UT loses out, burn the mattresses crowd. We had one genius pontificating in another thread about what would we do when we lose to TTU??? Thankfully even he was so ashamed he has disappeared I suspect until our next loss so he can jump on his bandwagon again. There had to have been really weird locker room stuff going on that culminated during the USCe game and ultimately led to the unprecedented step of a major player quitting midseason. Stevie Wonder in hindsight can now see one of the major pieces to the puzzle of why 120 has underperformed this year IMO.

We don't deserve to be in the top 25 right now. I'd put a few teams ahead of us before we get in like Houston, Navy, USF, SDS, maybe Arky & USC. If we finish undefeated then we'll inch our way in. We are where we belong right now; on the outside looking in.

Rather than scoring 100 on TTU, I'm glad I got to see some of our other talent. Some showed real promise. Also, I'm glad they were able to get valuable time in a game. That made me feel better than more meaningless points by our starters.

Seriously? You want recognition for beating Tennessee tech? Lol. Ok.

That is not what I said.

I basically viewed it as a bye week and yes teams have moved up when they did not even play.

I said they will drop you in poll if you do not beat up on a team like Tn Tech.

I also said, we had a lot to prove mostly to ourselves after all the negative things that have happened recently.

Again not saying "recognition", just hoped teams like Florida State and others ranked 20-25 would lose so by default we could move up.

By the end of the regular season there will be more of the teams currently with 2 losses in the Top 25 that will lose more games. That is when we get back in the Top 25 if we beat Ky, Missouri and Vandy.

Polls are the least of our worries. Just win out and hope Florida drops another game. Polls don't matter now

Makes sense. Good points. Well said.
