Our defense had a few injuries combining that with the amount of time the D was on the field and you get 0-8.

To make a blanket statement they were out of shape seems over the top.

7 months is enough time to get conditioning to SEC level.

1. It’s much more than just conditioning, it’s also size and strength.

2. Pruitt just recently aid we’re a “small team”....what do you think he meant by that?

3. It takes time, a lot of time, to get a smaller, less than optimally conditioned team to the size, strength and conditioning levels it needs to be at to compete in the SEC. I heard Johnny Long recently say it’ll take a year or 2 to get the team where it needs to be.

4. I’m far from the only one who’s said something about the team’s strength and conditioning under Jones the last 2 years. Honestly, a lot of what I’ve come to believe comes from people a lot more knowledge about the situation up there...including from our former outstanding S&C coach under Fulmer, Johnny Long. Some have even gone to so far as to say Jones’ mishandling of the S&C program is a primary reason for his firing...the team simply wasn’t physucally prepared to play winning football. Not sure how this even debatable for you.

Found a pic of Dormady with our O-line from last pre-season.

He also mentioned tackling and blocking to the ground. Mentioned going to "thud" practice.

I felt good about our conditioning last year. The strength part was hard for me to judge due to scheme. Injury aspect was another epic fail.

Practice better, play better.

Strength is not hard to judge when your DL is driven back to the LBs and your LBs are taken for a ride by multiple RBs.

We were predictable on both sides of the ball, making it easier on the competition than it could have been. We had team running down hill on us, whether we had the ball or not. This put both of our lines at a distinct disadvantage when the ball was snapped.

Everything Jones did was predictable
