We have had some breaks. VT fumbles and now Florida qb out. Is this 1998 all over again.

I sure hope so but this team is not nearly as talented at the 1998 team. We have not played well at all in 3 games now. I believe this week will show us where we really are as a team. If we do not play well this week, we are just not a good team, if we play well maybe we are a team of destiny.

I disagree completely. This team is plenty talented. It's the coaching that is holding this team back

O-line isn't talented

Uh yes they are. Same O-line as last year and we ran for more yards than any UT team in 50+ years. Sacks were cut in half from the previous year as well.

It's obvious the Oline regressed and I put that solely on coaching

98' we barely squeaked by against an Auburn team that Ohio would have probably beaten.

NO! (1) We do NOT have a fiery team leader who get in to your A. . should you not do your best. Al Wilson.

YES! (1) We have a ton of players who will drafted
(2) We have three very good running backs. (3) We have very capable receivers (4) We have some depth.

I still think we lose to Florida by 1 point and lose to Alabama. Then slip in to the SEC Championship game because other SEC teams, such as UGA & LSU will give Florida the three SEC losses we need to get us to the SEC Championship game.
We hit our stride and do well in the SEC Championship game and do well in the bowl game.
About ten players will be drafted this off season and we will need to re load with JUCO and freshmen for the 2017 season.

Personally I feel more positive about the game having just listened to Doug Matthews.
Go Vols!

He sure was drinking a lot of the orange koolaid, with his orange tinted glasses on this morning. He talked about all the good and hardly any of the bad.

He basically said Preston Williams shouldnt get on the field because of his drops and fumbles. I agree.

Mahoney ruined the 2013 offensive line and he has ruined this season's offensive line. The coaches are hindering this team.

If we can somehow get through Florida with a win and no more injuries we may have a shot. Especially since Georgia has looked unimpressive since week one. Maybe the stars will keep aligning in our favor. After all, we do get Bama at home in a month.

I'm telling you guys. This season is just beginning. They will be there when it counts. Volnation better recognize and stop being self deprecating attention whores.

Can we get through the next 4 weeks before making assumptions in how GREAT this team is. I have not seen one single thing that gives me any inclination that we are as good as we were in 98. Not one. As a matter of fact, I know we aren't. I want it to be just as bad as the next guy, but let's be real here...

I think the 98 OL could bulldoze any current defense in CFB.

That being said, we barely escaped syracuse, florida, auburn, arkansas, and struggled to score in both championship games. It took the ball bouncing our way in almost every one of those games to win out.

Thats the biggest similarity (and maybe the only one) I see right now.

Biggest difference is the upperclassmen on the 98 team would have been in everybody's face on the sideline when we go flat. We are sorely missing that now.

Yea, but at some point the breaks will start going the other way.

then again at some point its got to start clicking for this team and the offense finally will put up good numbers.
