Quarterbacks, do I have to say much? Macintyre looked like he ran the offense much better than Brandon did this week, but one week isn’t enough to bring that up. Running Backs have been good this year, only reason I didn’t give them an A or A+ was because of that Texas game. Wide Recievers haven’t been doing much cause the passing game hasn’t been doing well, but they’re doing their part blocking especially Matthews (god it sounds like we run the Wing T) Tight Ends have been ok, they’ve have good plays but they’ve had bad plays especially without Ethan Davis that was a big loss. That O-line has given me a lot of mixed emotions, gave them a C because the running game is still doing pretty well outside of that Texas game when they had 8 guys in the box. It’s still hard to gauge how much of how that OL played last week is on Brandon vs the OL after you see how the first half vs second half of the Auburn game was. DL is looking dominant. They’re playing physical, getting pressure, and they’re keeping us in ballgames Xavier Gilliam is looking fantastic, and they are getting penetration. Linebackers have played exceptional. AC was already a good player but he is on another level this year, the addition of Amare Campbell is amazing and Telander is finally looking like the linebacker he was supposed to be as a 4 star recruit. Jim Knowles has unlocked a lot of things for us. DBs are doing very well. Love that they’re forcing takeaways and also swarming to the football. Didn’t give them an A+ because tackling on the perimeter could use a little bit of work (obviously they’re DBs so I don’t expect them to tackle like linebackers but just need a few cleanups). Special teams is looking fantastic Jackson Ross did an excellent job this afternoon, Qua Moss was doing a fantastic job returning punts, hopefully he gets back soon, didn’t give them an A+ because Cooper Ranvier hasn’t been asked to do a lot with kicking field goals. Coaching, think that’s a bit high? Jim Knowles is the only reason coaching is higher than a C-, he was an excellent hire this offseason, love what he’s doing with that defense, and can’t wait to see how this defense does down the stretch, now with that being said, Heupel and his playcalling? Not good, that offense? Not good and that’s ultimately on the coach, he was playing not to lose more often than not this afternoon, and that offense was putrid against Texas. With all of that being said, that second half against Auburn was very inspiring, defense forced turnovers, offense was moving the ball efficiently, and we played complementary football for the most part. I still think we can win 10 games this year. GBO, and let’s go slaughter some Hogs next week
