This is the first time I've seen the team give up under Butch, that I can remember. Hope it is the last.

What we saw in the 2nd half was the cumulative effect of playing the toughest 4 game stretch in college football. Pile the injuries on that, and it was a tough day. I'm disappointed for sure. But I think this team will rebound and finish strong.

Just dumb. They never quit. They just weren't good enough.

Number 9 team at home blown out 49-10. 7 point differential first half 28-3 differential second half. They let up when they knew they had no chance of coming back. But what do I now it is just numbers, right?

But like I said, hope I never see it again.

They quit, but it wouldn't have mattered. The team is beat to hell and bama was just wayyy too good. Really need to get healthy.

I do too, thankful for the bye and a much lighter second half schedule.

No... They lost even more players in the first half. The second half was a complete lack of depth. We started some 3rd stringers today. We burned Marcus Tatems redshirt so he could play on our line, and he's only 265 pounds.

Offensive play calling did not give us a chance for success. Two runs and then third and long dies not keep a defense off balance or honest. Bama's defense knew what was coming the whole time.

And it seems we tried to make Dobbs a pocket passer and not a dual threat. Or he didn't look to keep it when the read was there.

We were overmatched and injuries and the four game stretch killed us. But that play calling looked like something out of a junior high school Thursday night game.

I spent the whole off season telling Bama fans that the days of blowing us out were over. Win or loose we would play them tough. Oh well.......

I don't think it's dumb...something was surely amiss and it damn sure looked like they gave up to me. Dobbs and Kamara are offensive captains but neither of them ever appear to attempt to get vocal with their teamates on the sideline. The closest thing i've seen that comes close to vocal leadership was sherion jones at the VT game. In this game i feel that Dobbs was unhappy about the plays he was ask to run and it showed. On our best drive of the day when we settled for a field goal we passed 6 of 8 plays and went down the field. That was our best chance of winning this game, pass, pass, and pass again. i knew i was gonna hear in this forum," you gotta run to set up play action", or " you gotta run to keep the defense honest"........etc. No you don't. In this case,UT didn't have the extra .5 seconds required to even fake a hand off anyway. As many posters are bit%#ing about why waste the down handing off to any of our backs? Dobbs isn't that bad of a passer and the left side of our OL and center weren't starters but Hurd coulda helped block. We didn't even try and that's what's bad. I don't know why our OC kept trying to run. I thought the objective of this game was to score more points. I absolutely think our players felt the same way as i felt when it was happening that it was useless to even try to run the ball on Bama today and that's why Dobbs "gave up."

Our Oline recruiting is embarrassingly bad. We have athletes everywhere else, but the Oline is full of a bunch of guys who should be playing MAC ball.

It certainly looked that way, but you had Hall and Jones out there who played well against these same Bama guys last year. Seems Bama kicked it up a notch and our guys got caught short. How those two AND the entire OL responds will tell the tale of our being in the SECCG or not IMO.

They gave up after their coach kicked a FG in the 3rd down 25 pts...

Not to nit pick but it was down 21 to make it an 18 pt game with almost 25 minutes of ball to play.

Probably looking for any points and hope the D would have a stop to start snowballing.

Didn't happen.

This is trash. Tennessee was not even close to being the better team. Butch is a 3 star coach going against the 5-est of 5 star coaches. Tennessee was hurt. Tennessee is conservative. Bama is aggressive.

That leads to disaster..

At no time did these guys quit. They don't quit. You don't know football or this team if you even remotely think that.
